Reading the records, the respective maritime authorities can take up to an hour to answer the British, it's a game they play, they can only contact the French warship half a mile astern, the appropriate port of safety for a rescued migrant is always Britain as the French refuse to take them back, thus breaking maritime law, and would rather let them drown than rescue them that's why so many have died in French waters.

    What you are reading is
https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...the-channel-in-small-boats-accessible-version translated and changed. Where as the full version of the agreement signed by the French has the specific words the nearest port in it WHICH IS ALWAYS FRANCE

So the Tories signed the French version of agreement, in French, then published the English version without reading it.

    Got it.

I think you're a bit confused, it's called conscription here, a draught is something you northern types, get through your safe style windows most of the year.

Three northerners liked your post tho.

Nope ... 'draft' is the correct spelling (King's English) in the context of the sentence...

"Donny the draught dodger" would be apposite if inferring that said "Donny" had inserted earplugs to stem the flow of air that would otherwise pass straight through the cranial cavity where most people would have a brain ...

... rather than whimped out (3 times) of serving his country in the Vietnam War... some patriot eh?

    You're welcome <cheers>
