never heard that one before NIG thank you it was Brilliant, really enjoyed it in fact nearly wet mesell laughing
loved the Charlie knobs cheese, what a horrible tackle you dirt ball sack licker, ill keep them for Wednesdays match
Just looked at 'the tackle' again and I'm no longer sure it was a red. It was during a frantic tussle in midfield and Jobe had a split second to react. I also think the roly-poly QPR player milked it and the referee allowed himself to be bullied by a gaggle of their players ... I thought that was a booking offence these days.
For me this was the crux of Saturday. Browne just isn't right for the role that Rigg does. I think one minor criticism I have of RLB is that he perhaps hasn't reacted fast enough to what he has learned as the season has gone on. His plan for game 1 was for Jobe to be the most advanced midfielder. The injuries and flow of selection ended up proving that Jobe was a genuine shout for best midfielder in the league when playing deeper. This then created an issue for Browne. He's a model pro, a very competent player and he's one who RLB trusts. However, he's only really a natural fit for that role as an orthodox 8 - and that is where Jobe is excelling. It was also telling that Neil's suspension was countered (very successfully) by dropping JB in rather than Browne. For me RLB should have probably got himself to a better position of trust with more natural replacements for Rigg sooner, rather than forcing square pegs into round holes. The Oxford game in particular was a chance to try Aleksic - or even AA - to see what they have. For me it's been clear for a month or so that the plan has changed and our weak point in terms of cover is Rigg's role - a position that Browne shouldn't really be used for. Now his hand is gonna be forced.
Excited to see Aleksic mind. Liked the way Reg spoke about him. Seems he’s battling the language a bit but should be able to gather the basics by now if imagine. Gonna treat the Jobe suspension as a ‘bonus rest’ coming into the busiest 2 months of season.
My thoughts entirely mate, every cloud has a silver lining. At some point we're going to lose players through injuries and suspensions so players, who've not played much, will have to come in. As with the likes of Mundle, Mayenda and Isidor we've been pleasantly surprised at how well they've done. Whatever happens, for once, I'm confident our manager won't make panic changes or try risky rejigs with people playing in positions they're really not prepared for. I think it'll be one change or possibly a change of CF at a push.
Yeah I think he probably could. He seems robust and game for a bit of graft. I'd have liked to have tried that out first though. I would imagine that the likes of Aleksic and AA would be more naturally able to find themselves deeper as the game ebbs and flows though. It could work brilliantly off the bat or it could leave us a bit exposed. TBH I probably expect that this is what RLB will do against Preston. He looks like he puts a lot of stock in his 'trusted' group - even over positional suitability or balancing sharpness and fatigue. Or maybe he goes with Mayenda and Isidor and looks to press hard from the front. Either way I don't see us going with a more 'natural' Rigg replacement just yet. Feels like that is a bit of a missed opportunity, even if I can't argue with the results whatsoever.
Aouchiche has played previously and RLB seems to want him around. If Rigg doesn't play it wouldn't surprise me to see him and Browne play. They're both mobile and I'm sure both would want to impress.
…I don’t believe that’s the case He played for the 21s on Saturday when we had a bench featuring Harrison Jones and Nazariy Rusyn I think it’s clear as day RLB doesn’t fancy him.
