Not a great draw. The last time we visited Walsall the entire 90 mins was spent singing Just sell the club at Katrien & Sue Parkes in the Director’s Box. @ElfsborgAddick was in attendance with me that day.
They knocked us out the Cup when Curbs was manager. I think they were 2 divisions below us. I was a couple of minutes late and got there just in time to see the ball flying into our net. Didn't even see who kicked it.
Walsall FC: Formed in 1888 (17 years before Charlton) Never been in the top flight. Highest ever league finish - 6th in the 2nd Division, 1899 Main rivals - Shrewsbury & Port Vale Trophies: none. Can't see us beating them except on penalties.
Not one to get the pulse racing. My Son was in Birmingham Uni. I used to go to Aston Villa, Birmingham and Walsall regularly. Awful ground.
The only Cup we've got a chance in is that thingy we beat Chelsea Boys 3-0, so I'd rather we went for that. There's an inevitability about the Cup; unless they get drawn together earlier the final will be between two of Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Always nice to have our support rewarded with a day out at a Premier League club in the 3rd round. Last year we took 9,000 to Old Trafford on a Tuesday night - not a You Tuber in sight.
