You may be right with your assumption but they’re still all over the place whether they get involved or not.
How good does it feel to have a GK who can make saves like Ramsdale did yesterday? It feels like such a long time since we had someone who can wow you in goal and have you sat there wondering how he kept what looked like a certain goal out.
Same here. It's completely futile, but I keep on adding five points to our total, whilst removing one point and three points from Ipswich and Leicester's totals. For a newly promoted side, being joint 15th with 9 points from 10 games - and with a game vs 20th up next - would have been a respectable return. And even if that was to only become 12 points from 16 games (given the upcoming fixtures which you mention), it would hardly be a disaster. But instead, we're probably looking at between 4 and 7 points from 16 games. And I don't see any way back from that - that's the sort of return which results in you finishing in only one place: bottom. No PL side has ever survived with less than 8 points after 16 games.
Pretty sure it didn't? The ref did the stupid TV screen symbol too which I thought was used when a decision changed? Either way it took about a thousand years and the Bedders check took far too long as well. Still an absolute crock of ****.
Watching MOTD for the first time in about 2 years. Such a contrast in our style of play. Bournemouth and Brighton look exciting when they’re on the ball in the final 1/3. They regularly lose possession there, but they also score goals.
I like this response by RM, to a question yesterday. Matty Fernandes seems to get better and better every week, doesn't he? RM: Amazing player. Brilliant. Top young man. Top talent. But nowhere near ready to play for anyone else, he needs a good couple of years here for us first. Totally agree with this sentiment, but I mentioned yesterday how I didn’t like seeing MF coming out to the touch line to receive a pass in a position where the FB/WB should be. Thinking back Stuart used to do this a lot too. Maybe it’s his style or he’s being instructed to do that, but I can’t help but think he would be better if he stayed central and tried to get between the two defensive lines and be in a position to better support Archer. RM mentioned that Archer needs more support than he’s been receiving.
Try "Alexa, who scored for Southampton" That would annoy me intensely When I used to do home visits, if I saw or sensed one of those I would insist it was turned off until I left "Hey Siri" - there's another highly annoying phrase But, hey, we won
I would put that more down to quality of player than style of play. Take left wing as one example: we've switched between Diaz, Fraser, Armstrong, Manning, Cornet and Sulemana. Brighton have Mitoma. There's no comparison.
I'd say we were 4 at the back, Cap'n Jack was a LB and Manning was more a winger Either way though, it wasn't good when we had the ball
Catch-22 init We don't want VAR intruding all the time, but we want it to advise reviews when we get fouled in that situation I thought that the tipping point was also that it was a professional foul to break up a counter AND looked 'dangerous' They reviewed Bedders, even though the ref saw it clearly and there was a covering defender Seems inconsistent
The 1st half was poor re chances v possession The improvement is that we we're breaking their press, getting it out of defence into midfield more Lallana was finding space and moving the ball around well for 40 minutes The issue was we weren't then getting it to the attackers much and when we did it was either Arma and Manning who then passed it back as they can't outpace FBs at this level, or Cam who was outnumbered 3 to 1 Flynn seemed particularly keen to pass any balls he got from defenders back to Ramsdale too. Improved 2nd half
