Apparently 13,000 people from the rest of the UK migrated to Scotland last month for all the freebies they enjoy north of the border, and less crowded towns and cities

Saw a headline on the BEEB...... plus the top 10. before I clicked to investigate I thought wonder if my choice in top 10 I once had to drive from down in the SE to teeside/ Newcastle with a delivery the route was mainly on the A19 .. I WAS RELAXED AND IT WAS A PLEASANT FEW HUNDRED MILES ....................

Why an A road with 'charm' has been voted UK's best ............
I was gobsmacked it was number 1 ..............

Driving along the A19 may not seem like the most thrilling way to end a busy day at work – but many motorists disagree, as the route has been voted the country’s best A road.
The stretch in North Yorkshire runs from York through Thirsk, Northallerton, Easingwold, Selby and up to Teesside and has claimed the top spot in a recent survey by independent watchdog Transport Focus, which also looked at motorways.
In the Strategic Road Users Survey, 9,000 road users were asked to rank major roads managed by National Highways and the A19 was given the top spot with the highest overall satisfaction being at 85%.

Top 10 motorways and major ‘A’ roads: ..........really????????????????????

    • A19  (Doncaster to Seaton Burn)
      M40 (London to Oxford)
    • M4 (London to south Wales)
    • M5  (Birmingham to Exeter)
    • A1(M) (Sections between London and Edinburgh)
    • A38 (Bodmin to Mansfield)
    • A46 (Bath to Cleethorpes)
    • M56 (Manchester to Dunkirk, Cheshire)
    • A30 (London to Land's End)
    • M3 (Sunbury-on-Thames to Chilworth)

the chaos of the labour party is becoming the never ending story........

Keir Starmer's Government was forced into another "humiliating U-turn" after confirming it will not announce any new freeports in the Budget.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves will announce funding for "next steps" for some of the existing sites, which will receive official clearance to have customs facilities within their boundaries, it is understood.
Downing Street, through a press release issued on Friday, said five new ones would be unveiled in the Budget.
Government sources said there had been a "total cock-up with the comms" arising from the conflation of freeports themselves and the multiple customs facilities contained within them.
Ms Reeves will also approve plans for a separate "investment zone" in the East Midlands that were put forward by the previous Tory government.

The Tories accused Labour of a "humiliating U-turn" which would damage business confidence in the UK.
"This Labour Government is once again in chaos and disarray," a Conservative Party spokesman said.

    so!

On Friday, Number 10 had said: "Ahead of the first Labour Budget in 15 years, the Prime Minister has today confirmed that the Chancellor will announce a new investment zone in the East Midlands
[ already sorted by the tory .gov:] and five new freeports as part of the Government's package of measures to fix the foundations and rebuild the country."
During his visit to Samoa, Sir Keir Starmer was asked about the commitment and whether announcing five new freeports was an acknowledgement that the Conservative approach had been successful.

    The Prime Minister replied:
"Freeports were introduced by the last government, [ blimey another U turn acknowledging it was the tory idea ] and what we did was to look at them. I didn't want to take the sort of ideological view that just because they were introduced by the last government, we would sort of stand them down. [[ was caught outbefore with that approach! ]
"We looked at them, they are working well, I think they can work better.
So rather than stand them down, [
learning our lesson from abandoning Rwanda and having a massive influx and costing us £bn's instead of a few £millions ] we're going to go with it, but we're going to make some improvements so they work even better."

Funny thing is when something is done they can nearly always be improved, or even in the process of leading up to them so nothing new

The A19 from Doncaster upwards is very scenic.
My Aunt and Uncle used to live in Guisborough and the A19 is the route we used to take to go and see them around the late 1970s when they were there.
A stunning part of the country and the views are even better when you leave the A19 and take the A172 towards Guisborough

it is in deed. .......... however, when couriering I covered pretty much all of the mainland day and night, It was on reflection quite stressful, from 2000 till 2019 I was doing on average over 90,000 miles a year [ 2002 to 2016] I had 2 new doblo's, 223,000 / 451,000 miles, a new ducato 270,000 miles an escort van 68,000 and a renault car 113,000 ford transit 68,700 various other vehicles added 324,000 miles
A lot of roads were stressful my journey up the A19 was like driving on the continent [ but on the left! ] not stressful, speed camera's were were few and well ............ it was just memorable!

Too far right, as Corbyn was too far left. A reaction to losing, elections are usually won by occupying the centre ground. This appointment will please traditional Tory voters, as Cornyn did traditional Labour voters. That’s the comparison imo

this is the biggest danger of course But it could mean that the 6 million who didnt vote split their vote and [already ] sha* on labour voters pick in that order one of .......... reform lib/con.
DEMOCRACY WORKS BY FIRST PAST THE POST when voting for who gets the PM...... HOWEVER to govern they need 326 plus seats! to be sure of winning their votes on plans etc [[ if they actually have any! ]
Already there are Labourites switching parties / a by election was lost to reform etc so what may transpire could follow those lines ............ I think 1 thing is sure there will be a completely different Labour line up in 3 years time maybe sooner?

to avoid a coalition the winning party needs to secure at least 330 - 335 seats minimum would be 327 if the 2 closest parties were each with say 110 seats [almost, just a couple ..%/ between them ] and 4th party was around say 70---75 there would be A MASSIVE bargaining / scratch mine /scratch yours who supplied the PM!

Will be interesting to hear what KB's first few interviews will be like and how she arranges her cabinet you have to bear in mind the ballots were secret!!! so some may have said I am a KB supporter but didnt vote for her or ............. bear in mind she was second in the vote before party vote!!!!!

This is why Labour dont have a solid core of reality ..............

The British people sent a clear message to the Conservatives at the general election. They’d had enough, after 14 years of failure and chaos.
Kemi Badenoch’s election as Leader shows the Conservatives haven’t listened. The Tories are in denial, blind to the legacy of their 14 years in office and indifferent to the chaos they left behind.
Their leadership election was a wild ride of discredited ideas, division, and disunity. Rather than focusing on the country’s priorities we the labour party are .....

....delivering for the public by extending maternity rights for women and raising the minimum wage for millions of low-paid workers. The first Labour Budget in 14 years announced record investment in the health service.
We’re protecting working people’s payslips from tax rises. We’re giving more money to state schools, paid for by ending tax breaks for private schools. . . . .. .
THE BRITISH PUBLIC DIDNT VOTE FOR KEMI the paid up membership voted for her, Rishi and Liz WERE LIKE Gordon B a PM BY DEFAULT!
Kemi has full command whereas Harmer has to abide with the appointed deputy leader/ pm!

Even after all the sh**e that has hit the fan over the lies and deceit still Labour mouth peices keep spreading the untruth's or things proven incorrect or likely damaging!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s what the Tory membership wanted
For me, I’m not sure she’s serious enough about tackling immigration, whereas Jenrick was championing mass deportations and leaving the ECHR which I was in favour of

If the Conservatives were voting for a far right candidate they would not be voting for Kemi Badenoch. The far right are ethno-nationalist. The Conservatives including Badenoch were a government who embraced mass migration to levels this Country has never experienced before, that is not far right.

RR ... like your often knee jerk reactions to a few "non win" or not the same as [ " previous manager's ] results you need to take a deep breath and open up to the bigger picture or the fact things take time .......... and none of us can see the future or read minds to an accurate degree.

2 tier Harmer is under the thumb by his cabinet especially his Chancellor and Deputy !

l0ads of "hindsight" hypocrisy is coming to the fore! Especially regarding 2 TIERS INTERVIEWS AND OPINIONS AS HE SPENT 4 OR MORE YEARS SLAGGING OFF .GOV OFFICERS/ PM's before being elected.

The interview with the farmer is a classic double barrel shot in the foot!!!! Calling TORY pm's and ministers liars.. TBH none of those lies equal his present record in the last 121 days or indeed those of his cabinet! and as for the treasury minister .. I ask .

"How can someone go into an interview, get chopped into little tint peices and admit it was all lies and wrong" Then go into a further 5 or 6 interviews and deny it all ,,, get torn to shreds and end up up admitting it all as he did from the first interview ..............THICK OR WHAT!

RR you need to see what is on the table before you start eating... KB HAS NOT LAID IT OUT YET ..............
