Nah, THB was just about covering enough for Beddy. Agree on Hyena Manning - he’s just nowhere near the level needed.

I can only presume Taylor was at fault for the Leicester goal as he keeps being ommitted. I think the Beto offside goal happens because KWP is moved out of position.

That's probably the perfect set of three results for us.

I still don't like us not putting a CB on the bench.

I think we got a little lucky and had it been a red card it would have been THB’s fault.
Look at his reaction after he loses the ball on the half way line. Initially he just starts to jog back before starting to sprint when he realises that Bedders is getting done for pace.
Poor defending by THB who should have been sprinting as soon as he lost the ball and been in a much better position to rule out the need for VAR.

It was poor, but I also think we could definitely be fitter. We’re Championship fit, not Premier League fit, and it impacts on those things.

I was wondering early first half, just why he was on the pitch at all. Anyway we’ve won a match and we’re happy campers for a few days now!!

Well we certainly rode our luck today but who honestly gives a ****. So nice to have that winning feeling again in a league match and especially with a late winner at the Northam end.

The first 15-20 minutes of the second half I think is the best we've played all season. Kept the tempo up and pressure on then in their own half. Thought we far too passive for most of the rest of the match. Interesting that the goal came from essentially a quick counter attack and a long ball into the channel.

Delighted Armstrong got the goal and he worked hard but he's so far off the standard required at this level. Our wide options in general are appalling really outside of Dibling.

Thought Aribo was poor today. So many misplaced passes and being too casual in possession resulting in him being robbed and us being under pressure immediately.

Everton definitely had the best chances and think it's fair to say that Ramsdale won us that game. Something last season's keeper didn't do once.

Thought Russell's subs were pretty good today. Given him a lot of stick for that this season so only fair to give him credit today, I was questioning the Suga one when he made it but obviously that was proven wrong!

THB looks like he's starting to adjust to the pace of the league which is a huge positive. Still a few shaky moments (eg Bedders yellow) but looks far more comfortable than he did early season.

VAR is still soooo ****. I know it won us the game but I can't describe just how much I hate it. Ludicrous that it's still taking as long as it is 5/6 years in.

I was happy with Suga coming on, as it meant Hyena was going off.

Oh and almost forgot but I thought the second half was easily the best the Northam has been this season.

Still not great by any means. Really patchy and far too many people there to experience the atmosphere but not contribute to it but there were multiple songs that actually seemed to involve the whole stand ratter than different groups singing different things.

Definitely seemed to respond to the bright start we made in the second half.

Suga came on for Stephen's didn't he? Thought Dibling came on for Manning.

At the time I just didn't feel like he was what was needed. But as I say I was clearly proven wrong!

In general his subs were much better than previous games though. Thought Aribo for Lallana made sense too as Lallana was getting caught on the ball a lot first half.

Agree about Aribo. He's still far too inconsistent, and therefore can't be relied upon at this level.

I think it was the Stoke game (but it might have been Leicester), where it was like watching two different players: he was very good first half, but dreadful second half.

I'm sure people are bored of it, but I won't stop banging the "should-have-loaned-in-JWP" drum. He would easily be ahead of Aribo in the pecking order. A midfield trio of JWP-Downes-Fernandes, with Lallana featuring amongst that whenever he can (which is clearly not very often), would have looked pretty decent to me.

Best match experience for me for a while. Had a seat in block 1 so Northam was next door and really nice to feel singing our song amongst thousands of others and not a lone voice, was really great.

It's funny that this season so far has been a complete non show and I have, like others have heaped **** on Russell and the owners.
We will probably still get relegated and I still think that RM is a stubborn and foolish PL manager but 1 win win makes me SO happy.
Supporting a football team is great and awful and I become so fickle and this should not affect my mood but hey ho,
I would like to state that I have not watched MOTD this season on a Saturday night (for obvious reasons) and this will continue because I'm getting on a bit and the replay tmrw morning with tea is loads better.
without AR we would be completely gone absolutely amazing performance today.
