The opposition may have been better, but so was our squad, so I'd say it evens out. I'm not defending today, it was ****ing dire after 30 minutes, but last season we had some similarly **** games, and that's why Rosenior was canned.
Tale of two halves there. Simons should be putting us 2-0 up after about 20 minutes. We then gave them a sniff after a Hughes mistake but dealt with it. Puerta should have put us 3-0 up after that. We were cruising. Then came the second half. It was mistake after mistake after mistake all over the pitch. There were 2 or 3 errors in one instance for their equaliser. Drameh had an absolute nightmare. For much of it so did Hughes despite showing moments of brilliance. Coyle defended superbly but is so frustrating to watch when we're trying to play out. We end up in a situation where Pandur is saving us a point when we should have been well clear with 3 in the bag. Zambrano should have netted as well late on but fluffed his lines. I think the side is good enough but every single one of them seems to have far too many brain farts in every game. Even Jones, shoving their attacker over when he had nowhere to go... We show our naivety week after week. I don't think this is a manager issue from how I'm seeing it, regardless of how many havent liked TW since he was appointed. We're defending well and creating more chances than our opponents generally. For me the players need to stay switched on for the full 90+ minutes and stop having so many lazy moments (Belloumi/Kamara) or making so many errors (all of them). Some of the mistakes are laughable but nobody is ever bollocking them on the pitch and telling them to sort their **** out.
I’ve been defending him and wanted him to have time but that was garbage. All is not great behind the scenes either so wouldn’t surprise me if he went this week.
Well think I have firmly moved into the Walter out camp after that display. It was not perfect last season but we played some of the best football I have ever seen City play. Under Walter it’s just dross. Watching the game in the second half I resorted to doing Todays Wordle.
You can't justify that, giving him more time is pointless. If it was going to turn around, it would have turned around already. The players look like they've got the quality, but the system is just ****ing awful and they look shackled by the instructions they've been given. I'd had enough of it five games ago, that hasn't changed. Get somebody in who can get these players playing simple football that lets their quality shine through.
I still think this squad has more quality and depth than last season and think this 'the squad is weaker' line is a bit of a cop out. Pound for pound other than striker we have a much better side this season.
That 2nd half was abysmal. Utterly bonkers to disrupt everything so much and change the entire midfield at once. Why are we not allowed to see Zambrano and Puerta together? Hughes needs to pull his socks up as too many mistakes. Kamara was poor before his injury, but playing on the wrong side like Drameh. Still at least we now have proof that Rosieball was far superior to Walterball and Acun really only has himself to blame. The only other consolation is we might now finally see Jarvis on his best side and we can judge if he’s good enough or not. I’m a big Longman fan so will be thrilled when he’s back. We might finally have a bit of bite.
Even an LT style dominating possession but no goal threat would have been better than that. But we did neither
Carvalho, Philogene and Tufan Or Belloumi, Kamara and whichever mediocre midfielder he decides to play in the no.10 role?
It’s indefensible now. That second half was appalling. Players look like they want him gone. The performances aren’t that of a team playing for the manager.
Belloumi, Kamara, Millar, Palmer, Omur is a much stronger attacking line than Twine, Philogene, Tufan and Lokilo which we had for the entire first half of the season (which we're still in). We then strengthene in January but even in saying that, Zaroury, Ohio and Sharp underwhelmed for large portions, though Ohio got better. Carvalho was just about the only quality addition. I'd also say Zambrano, Puerta, Alzate, Slater is a much stronger CM group than we had last season, and Drameh, Hughes and Pandur are a step up or equal to what we had last season (Drameh and Pandur certainly steps up).
Thats how i saw it The players look like theyll be delighted when hes not there The system makes them look clueless
Only some of it is down to Walter, some of the players need to take a hard look at themselves. They are the ones out on the pitch and then there's nothing Walter can do to help them.
Wherever I sit there's always at least one dickhead having a go at his own players but I reckon online it's fair enough to be a bit critical of them so long as it's justified
I don't think so. The likes of Philogene, Greaves, Morton, Carvalho and Delap would easily be starting 11 if they stayed
