Alan Browne will step in and perhaps even improve the midfield, we are blessed at the moment.

I'd say the two main things Le Bris has given us is a) giving every player a clearly understandable job and getting them to do it well and b) analysing the opposition and figuring out how specifically to beat each team. Very intelligent bloke but he's all about practicality and results not theories.

Biomechanics and physiology will do that to you. It's about facts and practical information that you always act on. Not ifs and buts.

This could go one of two ways, if what’s been said on Rigg is true the lads could be on a right downer worrying about him, on the other hand knowing this team now they could be saying let’s go and batter these for Riggy to cheer him up. Let’s hope so. Haway the Lads.

Regis Le Bris watching for complacency in his Sunderland squad

    upload_2024-11-2_8-15-44.jpeg

    https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...e-bris-watching-complacency-sunderland-squad/

HE is presiding over a side that is five points clear at the top of the Championship table, but Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has spent the last week looking for trouble. And the better his side becomes, the harder he will continue to search.…

“We are in a good place, this is very clear,” said Le Bris, ahead of this afternoon’s game with QPR at Loftus Road. “But we know that we have a long journey ahead of us.

“For the players, it could be a problem yes, because it is new. I think our main strength is our connection as a team, and if you have a big success as we have so far this season, then you can receive the praise and you can become selfish or you can lose your consistency.

“It’s very important to keep this connection, and one of my main concerns as head coach is to detect if this happens, because it can be very subtle. I'm aware this could be a problem.”

“Now, we have a size of staff where we can assess these things,” he said. “Now, as a head coach, I can sometimes have a little distance from the training sessions.

“This allows me to observe people, to understand their feelings and to feel if something is going wrong or whether we are still on the right road.”

While Le Bris has only spent two full seasons in management, he has extensive experience of working with young players thanks to his time in charge of the academy set-up at both Rennes and Lorient.

The likes of Chris Rigg and Jobe Bellingham have made giant strides this season despite still being teenagers, and Le Bris is confident he would sense if any of his young players were straying from the right track.

“I am confident for them because I have worked with so many young players before and can feel when they might get carried away,” said the Sunderland boss. “That is not the case with them because they like playing football so much.

“Instead of enjoying what is around football, they like playing the game, they want to improve and they like talking about their development.

“So, if their main concerns stay the same, I am very confident about them. They are still young, so we will keep paying attention and caring about them.”

    https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...s-message-sunderland-striker-eliezer-mayenda/

REGIS LE BRIS would consider playing Eliezer Mayenda in a wide position alongside Wilson Isidor, but would rather the former focused on establishing himself as a central striker.…

“It is possible that they could play together,” said Le Bris, whose side head into the weekend with a five-point lead at the top of the Championship. “We have spoken about this during the week.

“But Eliezer is still a young player and he did very well as a striker, so I think this will be his main option. It's an option of course because he is quick, strong and can dribble.”

“The first part is always his main strength, and (they are trying to) build on this,” said Le Bris. “For Eliezer, for example, his hold-up play was very good.

“We saw him start to run in behind more and he was very connected to defend with the team. And we saw he is a good finisher.

“This is the minimum, and then with repetition, with games, he can develop. He’s a good striker.”

What have I missed, what would people be worried about Rigg for?

Safe journey to all our travellers today. Because of the feeble allocation I reckon we'll have around 5/600 in the home sections. I sorted a few, with the help of Mag relatives in the south, which was quite funny. Dave Ashfield, from Devon, is on the train to meet his lads in London and they'll be in with QPR. Dave had an away ticket but he's given it to Big Pat who's flying in from SIngapore.

Apologies to those who don't know the names, it's just to show how good our support is. Win this game and Preston will be the same, already selling out with around 4,000 down, some reckon 5,000. Millwall after that on a Saturday 3pm, so another sell out then Sheff Utd.

Ha'way the Lads ... and Lasses!

There is a rumour going round he is having trouble with his heart or he has a chest infection. No clarification yet. Let’s pray it’s a chest infection <ok>

It’s pointless speculating because if there IS an issue then there will be a series of tests being conducted and there will not yet be a prognosis so people talking about any specific condition on here are just speculating
