Reminds me of a story in one of David Niven’s brilliant books. He said when he and Errol Flynn were messing about during the filming of Charge Of The Light Brigade the director, whose English wasn’t great, shouted at them “ You two make me mad. You think I know **** nothing, let me tell you I know **** all!” At which point Flynn fell off his horse he was laughing so much.

If it's the same group of kids that were camping in that very same spot a few weeks ago, they seemed like pretty decent mixed group of teenagers and they took all their stuff away, unlike some older groups who camp in the woods nearby, who leave bottles and cans behind. Although 6 have been arrested I suspect most will be released and probably only 1 will be charged. I've no idea why their parents would allow such young teenagers to camp out all night. Teenagers at that age can act moronic, full of bravado and ego. It was probably an argument/barney that got out of hand. Hoping the injured girl makes a full and speedy recovery and the idiot(s) responsible gets what they deserve.

 

The six arrested are aged between 14 and 17, what the ****s happening to the World.

 

Name the parents .....

Wow, scary thought living in one of those buildings !

The extended family used to rent a wooden cottage in the Northern edge of Hornsea for a couple of weeks in the summer in the early/mid '50s.
We used to make a short trek to the beach just a bit North of Hornsea for the day out - a small settlement called Atwick Gap.
We played in and around a load of big hollow blocks of concrete used as defences against potential invasions by the Bosch army from the sea. Great time had by all in the biting North sea with egg and sand sandwiches and fizzy lemonade.

Happy days and an escape from Hull. Only a handful of those permanent caravan/chalets existed on the cliffs in those days.

 

When did the old Carmichael’s building open as a hotel? Or have i not been paying attention??
