A point will do for me, think the win on Wednesday has saved Howe's bacon for the time being but the league is the bread and butter. Lose tomorrow and that's no win in 6 and the Forrest, West Ham and Palace games (before Liverpool) become huge.
Presser, Howe was talking about the midfield, spoke of Tonali being versatile so suspect Bruno will be CDM again vs Arsenal. Maybe the three of them just need time to really get that understanding, certainly they're all top players, but the thing I'd make sure of is Kelly ahead of Burn, Hall at left back, Willock in at left wing and Gordon right wing, depending on fitness levels. Priority is selling some of these useless fringe players before their value completely expires.
Whilst its hard to get over-excited about the Chelsea match - they looked like strangers, yet still managed nearly double the amount of shots we did - there was glimpses of the intensity we need to see. Howe talking about "fatigue" ahead of the Arsenal match is strange, it's barely a quarter of the season and we're not in Europe. However, I have a weird (sinking?!?? ) feeling that the tide is turning and we'll gradually improve. Everyone bar the top two have had some poor results, Arsenal included, as the PL is stronger throughout, so losses against Brighton and Fulham aren't the big shocks they were.
I agree. But I think the Chelsea result gives us some momentum. Forrest and West Ham are winnable games. We could find ourselves top 7 after the next 3. I’m confident. Don’t know why?
Fast start and early goal..then counter them late on as they look for an equalizer. 2-0. Geordie joy. Arteta tears.
This fixture has become a bad blood match because of Arteta and his carry on. I quite like it tbh, adds extra spice.
