A lot has been said about Martin O'Neill and having read the article that Cest posted

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15999771.stm

I am more than happy with this appointment.

However, I want to say how happy I am with Ellis Short as chairman. He allowed Steve Bruce time to put things right and then acted swiftly when Bruces' position became untenable. He has managed to secure us a first class manager. Can't wait for Blackburn game. :emoticon-0103-cool:

I would expect that to happen In fact I can't think of any manager who has not brought his own staff with him.

I would think that Mr Short has enough about him to allow our new manager to bring-in who he wants, both in training-staff and playing-staff.After all,our new manager will live or die with his results.

Agree about Ellis Short, Scatty. He gave Bruce more time than I would have done, but it wasn't out of complacency. We know that now. When he needed to act, he acted. Fair does to the man.

I don't think we could ask for much more than Ellis Short...

He listened to the fans, took it all onboard, assessed the situation and then acted swifter than a diving peregrine falcon!
