Get a grip. If Liverpool put out the same line up as they did last night then we definitely have a chance. But we have to go full strength.
For us to beat any of the teams that are left in it, we'd have to play a perfect game from our POV i.e. no individual errors, suddenly learn to defend set pieces, clinical at the other end...AND hope that they are not on it at all. Not impossible, but pretty unlikely. Liverpool though could probably be not on it, play loads of kids and still win comfortably. We might have more possession than them though so that's pretty fun.
Disagree. I think our strongest team against their weakened team, with home advantage; is about equal. But I doubt we'll play our strongest eleven.
Do we have a home advantage? Not sure it counts for much. If last night was their weakened team away to Brighton, it still contains a lot of players who would get into our first team. Plus their style of play is kind of our worst nightmare. I just don't see it.
Tend to agree, depending on what you're implying. If you mean the atmosphere is utter garbage, then yeah, sadly I agree. Hopefully something positive happens in the next six weeks to stimulate our miserable fan base. After the international break Liverpool have to play every three days until our cup game. That's good for us. Of course their team will still be better, on paper, but it's a cup game, and we have match-winners too. Throwing in the towel already just because they're a big name is, imo, a bit pathetic.
Agreed. As I said before, would rather have a City or Liverpool in this competition, than a Brentford. Only proviso to that is I’m sure Slot will be keen to get a trophy on the board in his first season, so may take it more seriously than Klopp would have.
Liverpool may play weakened team that may have 11 players that will walk into our 11. However, as they are not first teamers, they also aren't used to playing with each other (oh er!), so may not be as good as the individual players suggest. Remember when we did well under MoPo, it was the sum of the parts and the team that were good, not necessarily the individual players
Yep. All we have to do is keep the ball, pass it left and right for 90 mins, and then at least we have a 50/50 chance at penalties.
Get a grip of what? We have 1 point and suddenly we can beat Liverpool. Your delusional. I could use more explicit language but I will leave the up.to you.
We beat Man City in our last relegation season. Under Nathan Jones. If fans can't be delusional then what is the point of being a fan?
