The one that got me was when Arsenal had the ball in their corner under pressure, we’d closed player in and timber just then sat down and Arsenal player knocked it out for him to get treatment and then expected the ball back.

Was really disappointed we knocked it back to the keeper. We should have thrown it to someone and just stopped it in that corner and resumed in the same situation.

Im all for players putting ball out when someone’s injured but timber going down with bit of cramp when team was under pressure is really poor.

Oh they booed a bit or something.

I think the rule about players who get treatment needs to be strengthened

The 30 seconds or whatever needs to go to 5mins.

Players who lay down twice should be given a yellow card as thry are play acting.

Timber didn't need to lay down and get game stopped he chose it.

Same for Gabriel. He lay down twice after basically taking a dive on the actual incident so it's very ironic he injured himself.

A 5mins rest would completely remove it from the game.

When you've a ref who insists on stopping the gsme when they lay down but not when out players get chopped down you have no option.

You are then thr worst in the world in the media etc if you don't give them the ball even if you had it.

Which is the actual rule right?

On another point, I think Arsenal's seconds goal was offside. They took Merino's line from his foot, but his shoulder was further forward.

That would be entirely unfair if it's a genuine injury.

If a player needs more than 30 seconds of treatment would it maybe indicate that he isn't fit to carry on playing? I'd guess that most players who go down with an 'injury' aren't injured at all. When a real injury occurs the players know and usually look to the bench to be substituted instead of all the sitting down play acting.

When Howard Webb was explaining the 30 second rule last year he said that "treatment has never been allowed on the field of play". It's just another one of those things, like kicking the ball out if a player goes down, that's been accepted but isn't within the rules.

Another thing that niggled me was when Raya got booked for time wasting. The defender looked like he was going to take the goal kick then eventually passed it to Raya to take. I think both players should be booked both conspired to time waste would reduce that method of time wasting.

Howard Webb was not for the first time talking nonsense as treatment has been allowed on the pitch and still is in certain circumstances ..

That seems quite arbitrary to me. There are all sorts of injuries and they can require varying degrees of attention. Yes, it's frustrating when players needlessly go down, but it would be just as frustrating - and much more unfair, imo - if a genuinely hurt player had to wait 5 minutes before being allowed back on.

    Not really.

Walk off and get treatment on the side in the 5mins.

The scum ruin it for the genuine. So that's it. Suffer now.

    That's my attitude.

The second some managers started actively cheating tje system the rules on kicking the ball back had to be changed but they are rotten cheats so the genuine injury can just tough it out of they like.

We've all seen players roll back on the park for city or drop 3 times.

Actually...... Law 5 states - any player requiring treatment must be given such treatment off the field.

*exceptions for keepers and around if a penalty is about to be taken.

Yeah, we just witnessed 2 arsenal players break up play 4 times by sitting down and getting full treatment on the pitch

Nobody asks them to get off for treatment.

Man utd lost their minds over de ligt being told to get off when bleeding all over thr place.

as i said "in certain circumstances" and should point out if someone is clearly badly injured only an idiot would insist on them leaving the field before being checked out .

There were two other shots that had the players in a straight line one from above and one from side straight on not on angle like the one used
    Both looked offside
Thought it was weird at the time they used the one they did

yeah I didn’t think it was quite right at the time. And then all you have is ****ing Neville repeating over and over that it’s clear as day when it’s about as tight as it gets. I swear that moron has lumped 6 figures on Arsenal this season, it’s baffling how far up their arse he is

I haven't been listening to him - however, it's not surprising he's up the Arsenal arse as the obvious alternatives are us or City.
