Now that we know that the worst season in Man U's history was 8th in the Top Tier, we'd better expunge our memories of a two nil victory against them in Division Two in the Seventies. Pity, I thought I'd really enjoyed that game. Memory playing tricks again, obvs. 50 years ago next month that game. If it ever happened.
Vaguely remember it. Could be wrong but was that the game Stuart Pearson scored a couple and Manure signed him same season?
It is referring to their time in the PL. We know football existed before 1992 but some journos and plastics are unaware of it.
Everything that's wrong with football! 8th is not their worst finish in their history*. They were relegated as recently as '73 they were 13th in '90. Football didn't start with the Premier ****ing League! *I looked it up. EDIT: Ernie beat me too it. He was right too!
He had, And was, as some thought, conveniently injured and didn’t play. In other words, chickened out.
TBH I don't care what they are referring to. That's not what it says. As I am now in early middle age I reserve the right to be outraged on any topic I feel inclined to be.
It is bleeding obvious they are referring to their time in the PL as all the figures quoted are doing so. Hopefully they will finish even lower this season.
