Now that we know that the worst season in Man U's history was 8th in the Top Tier, we'd better expunge our memories of a two nil victory against them in Division Two in the Seventies.

It is because it says 8th was worst in PL. They have had a lot of seasons below 8th in top flight.

 

Vaguely remember it. Could be wrong but was that the game Stuart Pearson scored a couple and Manure signed him same season?

 

It clearly says worst season in the club's history.

And the Internet's never wrong.

It is referring to their time in the PL.
We know football existed before 1992 but some journos and plastics are unaware of it.

 

Hope they make another terrible appointment.

 

Everything that's wrong with football! 8th is not their worst finish in their history*.

They were relegated as recently as '73 they were 13th in '90.

He had, And was, as some thought, conveniently injured and didn’t play. In other words, chickened out.

 

According to write ups it was his extra years extension.

 

TBH I don't care what they are referring to. That's not what it says.

As I am now in early middle age I reserve the right to be outraged on any topic I feel inclined to be.

 

It is bleeding obvious they are referring to their time in the PL as all the figures quoted are doing so. Hopefully they will finish even lower this season.
