Loads of great YouTube channels for learning guitar too. Just don’t get bogged down too much in the theory !

Well no one, there were two and Mrs Chief had one before she trotted off to the shops to buy more.

I kindly accepted her offer of the other, I'd have had a bacon butty otherwise and I'm swerving bread.

That’s reasonable enough, given the circumstances. But no amount of beans is making up for that missing 2nd egg

Yeah Youtube will be your best friend when learning - just google search any particular song you want to learn and just add in the words 'guitar lesson.' You'll end up with half a dozen different variations from different online tutors, you just need to select the one you can most tolerate.

Just thought actually looking at this next video (not beginner), you might want to purchase yourself a capo...

Status Quo and loads of bands made a career out of just playing 3 different chords. So it shows that it doesn’t have to be over complicated.

Morning - same - Londinium - ended up not doing garden yesterday but going for a long walk instead - me, the missus, middle girl and the little dog - 11 and a half ****ing miles ... enjoyable but needed a good soak in a steaming bath with dead sea bath salts to recover!!

Used to live near a pub in Worcestershire called the Camp. It was right on the river Severn and used to flood most years.

They stayed open and the landlord had a metal punt that he would ferry you across the car park into the pub. You’d get inside and all the local farmers would be there in their waders at the bar still drinking like nothing had changed.

Classic old British pub scenes those sorts of things.

Just had a call for an interview with a company in Sheffield (Ansys)

an amazing opportunity, but bang in the middle of Sheffield so a city commute every day.
Heading over to speak to them on Thursday to see if there is any flexibility. US company, so highly doubtful

im in a job I love now, with great flexibility and work life balance. This would be purely chasing money. At what cost to my family life, well that would be the question I need to ask myself.

What sort of % are we talking here, take home salary? If the tax, NI and commuting costs eat into it enough then I’d probably **** it off. If they have a good pension set-up then maybe worth taking the hit. Once you’re in and get through any probation period you’re in a good position to mold it into what you want anyway unless they’re really militant about stuff like being in the office which no serious business is any more as it’s proven to be counter-productive.

yeah, u.s. companies are normally arseholes and because they think they have to work in the office they enforce that **** onto their offices in other countries.. Good luck

do you normally look at % or increase.

a 50k -> 75k interest looks huge and is 50% but for someone who goes from 200k -> 250k thats much larger even though % wise its far less. Obviously there are spending relatively different but someone imo doesn't spend that much more that offsets that

Well yeah but it seemed rude to ask him his salary. The boost in take home salary from 50 to 75 is probably going to have more impact than from 200 to 250.

Ultimately though if you’ve got a good quality of life every day then being able to afford a nicer car or an extra holiday isn’t worth the hassle IMO along with the aggravation of learning all the **** you have to at any new business especially a big one. If it’s the difference between being worried about dough and not being worried then absolutely go for it because for me that would be more stressful than a job.
