Just reading this morning that Greg Docherty is now our highest paid player on £10,000 a week <yikes><yikes><yikes>

We had to break the bank for him apparently due to his “Championship pedigree”

It’s fair to say our skipper has been a major let down so far.

Good old Andy Scott, the gift that keeps giving.

This happens every year. The squad is big enough to cope with this. But not good enough. The only players that I can see who are good enough for a top six side are Ramsay, Jones, Edwards, Leaburn and perhaps Godden. The rest are stocking fillers.

And Godden is 33 & past his best.

How many players do we currently have who can play at a higher level ?

Our promotion side in 2019 had ten. (They all went on to play in the Championship or above for other clubs).

I wouldn't pay him £1000 a week. He has been really poor as has Campbell. A lot of the players are Jones picks so he must carry the can. Getting rid of May and bringing in Ahadme has also proved disastrous. Jones has got a lot wrong.

I must admit I was really pleased with his appointment, but the sight of Hylton lumbering on to the pitch on Saturday finally did it for me. The sight of Godden smashing home that penalty with the last kick of the game, and silencing the away fans lightened the mood, but when that wore off we were left with the reality that we don't have a midfield worthy of the name. Not helped by the sight of Dobson running up the pitch to lay on the second Wrexham goal. Not a single Charlton midfielder ever runs with the ball, TC is the only player who does. Possibly Leaburn when he is match fit, Small and Ramsay, and Dixon if he ever gets the chance, but our midfield must be one of the worst in this division. Even when TC does get to run at defenders there are two of them, with no support. They don't look like they want the ball half the time, just watch for that when we get a throw-in. In fairness we do miss Jones and Ramsay, but we've got a shed-load of CB's,(never mind the quality feel the width) and Reg looks a capable cover at RB.

That info on Docherty came from a well known brown nose club insider sponsor, so there’s probably some truth in it.

Docherty last Summer: “My career is f ucked “

    Andy Scott: “Hold my beer”

It’s totally baffling why we have recruited 4-5 midfielders who all do identical things, mostly badly.

Incredible state of affairs at Man Utd - the wealthiest football club in the world now having key decisions made by a cycling coach (Brailsford).

    Copied from the BBC Sport website;

British billionaire Ratcliffe told BBC Sport in February the club's problems extended far beyond the role of the manager.
"In the past 11 years, Manchester United have had a lot of coaches and nobody has been successful in that environment," said Ratcliffe.
"That says to me there is something wrong with the environment."

There are no flies on him.

Some interesting analysis overnight on ETH’s disastrous 2.5 year reign at Man Utd.

Over £600,000,000 spent on new players under ETH, of which £300,000,000 went on players from his former club Ajax <whistle>

Nothing will change their any time soon, as they have a byzantine SMT- arrangement involving people who don’t understand football.

    Sounds almost familiar …

I like the notion that Ten Hag was "surprised" when he walked into his office and they gave him the tin tack.

Only goes to show how far out in the Solar system he's been living. In orbit around Uranus I shouldn't wonder.

And the response of the Utd players <laugh>
A couple of thankyou notes from youngsters for him giving them their first team breaks <doh>

Sky have made a huge multi £m bid to televise the WSL and other women's football.
I am definitely in two minds as to whether that is a good thing.

Yes, the money will be potentially helpful, assuming it is not all hogged by the Elite few teams, who are rich enough already.

But does women's football really want to just become a reflection of the men's game?
Perhaps it should try more to create it's own identity and culture.
An arrangement of some kind involving free-to-air TV coverage could be a valuable part of that.

Putting women's football behind the same paywalls as the men's game - and giving it the same Sky TV persona (certainly not loved by all football fans) does not necessarily serve it well in my view.

Why is everyone worshipping Sean Dyche?

Everton are 16th in the Premier League.
Is that all it takes to keep their fans happy now?
