Not a bad returns especially if we can beat Arsenal at Anfield .The most disappointed person is going to be Gary Neville, he actually wanted Arsenal to beat us.

I don't think Trent was as bad as some are saying apart from the fact that his passing .which after all is main asset ,was way off but at least he worked himself to a standstill

Think this forum needs a dislike thumbs down option for comments .Maybe then it would avoid run ins with people who can't cope with opposite/ negative opinions,as it seems some members don't think some opinions should be expressed on an OPEN FORUM.

That's not the issue for me. I don't mind him having ineffective games here and there - I just think he has too high an opinion of himself.
Over-confidence, arrogance - whatever you want to call it, doesn't sit well with a lot of people. I'm one of them.

Yes but the ref had blown up before any of that for a foul outside the box thst caused the commentator to have a right moan.

I can't recall as I was trying to ignore them but did someone else come on for the last part of the game or was neville still on whinging at anything we did and celebrating everything arsenal did?

Maybe he just went off to get to the sideline to cry for arsenal some more in the post match as I didn't put it on.

I'd have taken a draw beforehand; at home we expect to win every game but away against top six rivals... anything is a bonus.

I've seen people moaning about Trent; maybe arsenal just targeted him as he's a key part of our play. No coincidence that Salah was also quiet, they shut down our right hand side.

They shut us down totally until they dropped off the press. We found it very very hard to make any passes

I think Arsenal are happy with a point too. They don't want us to open a seven point gab so early in the season.

Salahs movement for his goal is quality.

Do you mean internally at the club or the wider fanbase?

Can't speak on behalf of other Arsenal fans, but me personally, I'm not happy with a point at all. I suspect some of you will disagree but I felt we'd played well enough and had enough chances to win the match. In isolation, a draw against a high-flying Liverpool isn't terrible (though it's not ideal). However, when you consider the context of our season so far, we needed the win to make up for points we dropped against Brighton at home and Bournemouth away. We didn't do it. A point doesn't really help us.

And whilst I do believe the Gabriel and Timber injuries played a part in us not winning the match (that defence we ended the game with...lol), I also believe we started to play defensive too early on in the second half. As Saka and Martinelli were beginning to tire, Arteta should have been a bit more proactive with the subs earlier.

Across all competitions, we have four away games in a row now. Preston away, Newcastle away, Inter Milan away and Chelsea away. The Preston game should be a victory, but the other 3 games are a lot tricker to call. We need to get maximum points from the Newcastle and Chelsea games if we want to stay in the title race. Anything less and we're in a battle to secure 3rd IMO. With a very tricky midweek fixture away at Inter sandwiched in between, it's going to be a monumental ask...

It may sound dramatic, but our title hopes could be over before the November international break.

Yes as I said at the time he saw he was offside initially and didn't go for the ball so left it to nunez and moved instead to be in the middle if it was squared. It was very aware of the situation

Neither side had a distinct dominance over the other, so a draw is fair imo.

In fairness arsenal should have killed us off first half but we dug in and worked hard despite not being able to string passes together.

But then your point is valid, they lost it second half and went to pot. Dropped off their press until we scored.

We looked shattered at the end tbh, a long week and a largely successful one.

Arsenal only actually really threatened our goal from frees that we seemingly didn't once learn from so thst says we at least worked hard to try keep them out I suppose.

We very rarely threatened their goal either so two good goals and two set piece goals means a draw is fine for every one and of course agent Taylor gets his bonus from city.

To me, neither side can claim to have "deserved to win" unless they had a clear superiority and were somehow denied their victory unfairly - or by extreme bad luck.
Yesterday's game was too even overall to make such a claim, imo. Mo really should have scored when a mistake put him through with only the keeper to beat and things might have been very different then if he had, but it is what it is and a draw was fair imo.

Trent > Nunez > Salah > goal .... the moment of the match for me.

Arsenal have managed to put together a really dislikable bunch of players; the flopping, moaning, feigning injury (again yesterday with the fake head injury), just makes them horrible to watch. Would have loved a last minute screamer to have shut them up. Happy enough with the point we got and the two Arsenal dropped.

Very disciplined of Nunez to pass to Salah (who was in a better spot) than try scoring himself. Everyone knows, especially Darwin, how much pressure is on Nunez to keep his spot and he isn't known for being level-headed, but he did the right thing there and passed to Salah.

When Gabriel went off I honestly thought you’d used all your subs and had gone down to 10 men for a while as you started playing same way you did v City. Backs to the wall defence and looking to hit on the counter.

Was a very odd move, I know defence was but make shift by the end, but surely Arteta needs to get out of this ‘we’re the underdog’ mentality in those scenarios and go for the win. You just handed us 30 mins to break you down

Since Nunez came his link up with Salah has actually been very good. I do think in most scenarios he’ll take a shot but when Salah is around will look to pass to him more.

Maybe just my perception but feels that way when watching.
