Edwards vs Burnley for me, every time.

2-1 down, 2-2, the place was rocking, then BANG!

I swear i ducked behind the goal cos it was coming through the net and breaking my sneck.

Mentions to Marco at the scum, Marco vs Norwich away in the old division 1, opening game, the whole ground just clapped (look it up!), Ricco's free kick, superkev vs Chelsea and a Phil Gray trademark diving header vs Sheff United!

Ah, and Lee Howeys beast of a header at the Fulwell End to beat the smogs 2-1.

Carlos Edwards at Birmingham 3 or 4 years back. Unleashed a left footed piledriver into the top left corner of the net from about 25 yards out. I do like his Burnley one too! ;)

Edwards scored a few absolute screamers, i've wondered, if he never got injured and lost his confidence, might he have made it in the prem?

He was NEVER the same, never even close after the injury, shame, he was class, one of Keane's best buys in my opinion.

    Porterfield without doubt, RIP.

Closely followed by Carlos V Burnley, followed by Ricco V Scum.

and forever a Wearside god alongside Jimmy and Bob.

In recent memory -last season, I liked Zenden's volley against spuds. Cracker of a goal, but also in the context of the away fixture, where we played them off the park at WHL and still lost.

vic halom 1973 v man city fa cup replay. was in the fulwell end and i have never seen it so alive as that night, think there was well in excess of 50k in the ground and when vic hammered it in the ground exploded and the noise was amazing. perhaps it's just me and getting older but the sol has never reproduced the atmosphere and noise levels of a packed roker park.

I also recall the Fulwell back in those days and a certain defender who would slam home 2 or 3 goals per season 30-35 yards out - awesome goals every one of them.

yes, great days indeed. i used to love the way he could thread the ball down the line with enough curl to just about take it out of play and back in without the linesman noticing.

Bent's goal in the 5-1 defeat at Newcastle, I almost cheered when it went in , just think if a match was 89minutes long would have been 6-0 over 2 games.

We have seen many good goals it would be difficult to pick one out. So how about all 9 at SJP in the 9 -1 win.

Cloughie against Leeds at Roker. Along punt out of defence to Cloughie who had Jack Charlton tightly marking him. Receiving the ball on the volley he deftly flicked the ball over his own and Charlton's head. Spinning round he went passed a bemused Big Jack and smashed the ball on the volley into the net from maybe twentyfive yards. Anyone remember it?

Armstrong's header v Chelsea in the FA CUP for me. Not the most spetacular, but the occasion made it. Plus, after the game is only time I got touch the hallowed turf of RP.
