Pleased for Crompton, and pleased to see him in the right place in the middle rather than at full back
Just stuck me head out the back door in SR5 and I swear I heard Murtys voice shouting "WELL DONE YOU!" all the way from Norwich.
Second goal.... https://x.com/AcademyOfLight/status/1849903230555230229?t=jehjthHuCKeSSLzc_IgdQw&s=19
Another good win for the young guns who can only get better, the future looks very bright at the Academy.
Third goal. Cool as you like... https://x.com/AcademyOfLight/status/1849909170289639714?t=UAusyDJvMlIICXIXQKi5vA&s=19
Sunderland Under-21s claimed all three points on the road with a 3-0 victory over Norwich in the Premier League 2. A brace from Ben Crompton and a late finish from Jaydon Jones sealed a fifth win in a row at the Avant Training Centre. Graeme Murty named a youthful side in Norfolk with U18 lads Marcus Neill, Fin Geragusian, and Joe Neild all named on the bench. Harrison Jones led the line with Trey Ogunsuyi suspended It was the hosts who started the game the stronger as Errol Mundle-Smith forced Dan Cameron into a brilliant, outstretched save. The Lads took the lead with half an hour played. A smart corner routine landed at the feet of Crompton to open the scoring from close range. The Black Cats continued to find their rhythm as the second-half played with the second coming with ten to play. Crompton again from the corner poking the ball home at the back-post to secure his brace. The points were sealed in the final moments as half-time substitute, Jones was slipped through on goal by Cuba Mitchell to confidently tuck the ball away. Sunderland return to league action next Saturday as Manchester United travel to Eppleton. SAFC: Cameron, Lavery, Kindon, Crompton, Jenson Jones (Neill 80), Burke (Geragusian 80), Middlemas, Mitchell, H.Jones, Walsh (Jaydon Jones 45), Tutierov (Neild 80) Unused subs: Richardson
Are you sure he was? Mundle's brother is Rio, he's only recently turned 17, is a fullback and usually turns out for their U18s. I don't know if this lad, Erroll Mundle-Smith is related to them.
