    Exactly <ok>

We have a team of lost players with no actual captain to guid them (Fergie had 11 on the pitch).
Bruno is in no way a leader as his is the first head to drop (maybe second to Rashford), Maguire is far too passive and quiet.
The only two i see with the passion and drive to be a captain are Dalot and Martinez who unfortunately are in the wrong position to drive the team.

We just need 2 goals in the next 45 minutes to win this one.

One down! One more to go! We absolutely must win this to not find ourselves in relegation battle.

Good game, fantastic goals, lots of energy and invention and Rashford is back on song too - important result.

Good response to come back from 1 down to win. Probably far more significant than winning 2-0.

You clearly mistake me for an internet keyboard warrior with no brain to apply original thoughts and plenty of time to watch your friends on YouTube.

Besides, had we lost that match yesterday, you wouldn’t be posting that message with 4 points above relegation zone.

After eight games of a 38 game season for **** sake. Relegation 'battle' !!

As it goes, we're six points behind the mighty Arsenal.

You talk ****. Nothing to do with being a warrior you cliché ridden clown, just saying it as it very clearly is.

GTFO with your “I know football better than you” bs attitude! You are purposefully being idiotic and pedantic when you clearly understood the point of that post. But if you’re too busy playing stupid to figure it out, we were closer to relegation zone than we were to top four on Saturday morning - FACT!

And since when did Arsenal become the benchmark? How about after 8 games, playing only Liverpool from the top six teams and already ten points off the top. There’s perspective for you if you need one after the home win against the mighty Brentford.

    Relegation battle though. <laugh>

Plucked from the nearest social media post of your choice. Clueless.

We were never winning the league this season, ever. No chance.

So yes, Arsenal, who are in the top four, are indeed our current realistic target. I could have said Villa, I chose Arsenal.

Happy to clear that one up. <ok>

Zirkzee is proving to be a complete waste of space.

    He does look pedestrian.

Definitely too piss weak for and slow for the league, but he looked ponderous tonight as well.
He's not a No.9, at all. Shouldn't he playing there with a right back as at 10 behind him!
Hojlund is our only 9, Toney should have been signed instead of Zirkzee.

Does ten Hag get the blame for him too? I thought he was an Ineos choice.

That has to be one of the worst perfomancies i have seen from us, player that got passed to the most was Onana (not an official stat) and our only attacking ploy seemed to be kick the ball near Garnacho.
Very lucky to get away with another point.

He did, but then both Dalot and Lindelof showed their usual lapses of concentration at times. Neither is a great defender. Which defenders need to be!

Looking back, I still find it weird that he played Mazraoui at 10 and Zirkzee at 9.

He could have helped himself, and three players, by playing three centre halves at the back, Mazraoui at right wing back, Zirkzee at 10 and Hojlund at nine, with a midfield three.

It's like he's throwing **** at the wall and hoping some of it sticks, it comes across as a bit of a panic, trying random stuff out.

Just play players in their comfortable positions and stop trying to shoehorn everyone into a game ffs!

It always starts and ends with the manager, Chief. No two ways about it! It hasn’t mattered which player which player puts on the shirt, the outcome has been consistent. It is the manager who owns the system which the players execute under.

    See below…

The system as you put it is a starting point, the main thing you need is players with football intelligence who can look for a free player and make a pass to suit the situation.
Last night was pathetic, our only plan of attack seemed to be kick it to Garnacho because he's fast.
At dead balls Onana kicked it to the nearest full back who then passed to a center back who then passed it back to Onana to hoof up the field to the opposition midfield/defence.
We even had two throw ins level with the oppo penalty box that in 3 passes ended up with.........you guessed it Onana.

We can and have played much better than that but for some reason last night they were terrefied and lacked any pride/intelligence at all in order to stay safe.

Of course this is way the manager has permitted them to play. If he barked at them every time they did the same thing and ensured there are consequences when they don’t follow simple instructions such as passing the ball backward to the goalie every single time, you really think the players will continue doing it?

We all saw how the team played under LvG with pointless sideways passes. Then Mourinho came in and instantly changed the system around.

Ultimately, most of these players are established internationals. They are effectively the top of the crop for their respective countries. It sure as hell ain’t the players. It is 100% the manager!

    Bollocks.
I have said it before and will say it again, it's all down to game intelligence and personal pride.
Yes the manager will come up with a system which will give the players an idea of which area of the pitch they are responsible for both defencivly and attacking but once the ball starts flying about and the oppo players start hunting it you need players that can spot gaps to pass through and runs to make into space or create space for others because the other team will rarely accomodate your "set" syatem.
