Gaddafi wanted to create a gold backed African/Arab currency to rival the dollar. But I'm not sure what momentum it gathered before it was quashed. Dollar is still the go to reserve currency, despite Putin wanting to see a BRICS currency take it's place. Over 60% of the world's central banks use the dollar as their reserve currency and more than 80% of the world's financial transactions are invoiced in dollars. That could all change I suppose, but a significant proportion of BRICS members don't want a fight with the West like Putin does. So it's simply not in their interests to rock the boat with the US and the dollar.
The most important country, Saudi Arabia, the reason for the Petrodollar, took part in Brics at the same time the deal with the Petrodollar comes to an end. BRICS had to reject multiple applications and set up a friends of BRICS group instead. We have through pure hubris, specifically showing the world America will **** over ANYONE THEY WANT, that having your assets tied to the US is dangerous. They're all on the way, from Africa, to South America and Indonesia, to the Chinese, Iranian and Russians We are ****ed but don't realise it yet.
Again you've no idea. https://x.com/BRICSinfo/status/1849398083932639584?t=jWaG_7PiMUg7CPFBO4Kgyg&s=19
So? Will they have a joint currency? Half those countries are either ****ed, at war or hate each other. Do you think China will mess up their trade relations with the US? Do you think the russian economy is stable? (You probably do ) Do you think China and India get along? Egypt and Ethiopia? Iran and Saudi Arabia? Wtf is Palestine bringing to the table? You're so ****ing clueless it's unreal. Stop reading putin-simping twitter and rethink your life views ffs.
The important thing to remember is that America said Russia should be isolates Russia don't look isolated They proved they could thrive under sanctions The world has taken notice
They turned up for a meeting. russia isn't isolated, Iran/China/India/North Korea are all profiteering/supporting them as they're weak. They'll be Chinese serfs in a year or so. You claimed the russian economy was booming a few weeks back. You still sure of that?
The guy Mindoid follows on Twatter and reposts on here ffs https://vatniksoup.com/en/soups/193/ In today’s #vatniksoup, I’ll introduce an Australian LARPer and political commentator, Simeon “Aussie Cossack” Boikov. He’s best-known for rallying neo-Nazi groups to pro-Kremlin demonstrations, for assaulting the elderly, and for hiding in the Russian consulate in Sydney.
Everything they ****ing touch. Does anything ever cross his desk? The ****s a control freak, of course he knew.
I don't think there is any 'deal' for the petrodollar is there ? The Saudis invested heavily in the US after the Oil embargo in the 70's and the reciprocal benefits were that they got US assistance on the world stage in the middle east, bilateral support with defence, agriculture, science, technology and access to the strongest currency in the world, which is easily moved around. The Saudis are as heavily embedded in the US as is vice versa. I think the two countries are also about to sign a joint security agreement, which will bring them closer on defence. So I don't think there's any danger of the Saudi's suddenly ditching the US for Putin. What the Saudis do though, is keep the US politically onside and the Russians strategically onside
Nothing is ever anything to do with him Tight ship he runs obviously both now and in the past. What do you say Mr Starmer? "Nothing to do with me guv, I've been home watching the telly all my life, honest guv. I'm no copper's nark innit" Now it's Captain Teflon!!
Yes, I'm pretty sure they're thriving. A meeting attended by multiple nuclear powers, UN representatives and economic giants looking to join a system independent from the US Dollar Gaddafi tried to replace it. Putin doesn't, he offers independence
The ruble is ****ing worthless. No one will want to align with them. China/India/etc won't break their ties with the West. You're just fapping over putin again, as per.
