Him being out of position against Brighton was too late, his contract has already been extended by then. Lobby will get an extension
Wilson's return apparently delayed by a futher 3 weeks. He really is a liability. We need to add some firepower in January.
Has been for years. Not sure this reflects well on Howe (sorry to bring it to him) who by all accounts wanted to keep him in spite of January offers.
Howe on Wilson: ""We're going to lose Callum for the next three games definitely. He's suffered some tightness in his body and he hasn't felt like he could kick on to the last part he needed. He had trained with us and had looked really good but with Callum, he's hyper-sensitive and we're hyper-sensitive to the work. It's no injury as such, he's just not ready to come back again." Tell me you shouldn't be in charge of player sales without telling me you shouldn't be in charge. Or tell me he isn't playing til the New Year without telling me he's not playing til the New Year. ****ing waffly bollocks. If this ****er isn't shipped out in January, I might lose my mind! Who would fight to keep a "hyper-sensitive" player?!
The run of games could see the pendulum swing dramatically one way or the other, but the odds suggest it'll swing firmly in the direction of Howes arse.
Honestly it's kind of genius when you think about it - he's earning an average of 60k a week here and plays just under 60% of the premier league games we've played in his 4 and a bit years he's been here. That's not including any cup games he's missed. Hope the club have a good insurance coverage on him...
Wilson is a real miss that's the worst part. He's big strong and scores goals..Newcastle simply don't have anyone who can ruffle the feathers of the cbs.
Agree he is when he's firing and he's a natural goalscorer. But for about the last 3 seasons his legs have looked shot, even when supposedly fit. He has lost the pace and movement that made him a good purchase at the time. Bottom line is we need anither striker, ideally in January.
Agree on his legs, but sometimes a player is causing problems simply by putting themselves about and being capable of holding it up, winning fouls etc. Newcastle simply do not possess that player and it's why I wasn't against lewin and still aren't. Anyone in that mould would help the manager and the side.
