Here's my 2p. Similar to Hull in that, we weren't great offensively, however wonderfully organised at the back. Think after 20 minutes, something should have happened in terms of a reaction, I mean they were trying in parts, but there was way too much playing from the back, we needed balls over their centre backs and wing backs, on the few occasions we done that and Isidor didn't get smashed, it was canny! Anyway, Dan Neil was good for me, but he made obviously a very costly defensive error which I can forgive, but the pass in the second half which led to Patta making a save was really bad for me! I know it's in our nature to play from the back, it's exciting and it makes sense, but against Luton on that pitch with their press... Anyway, Chris Rigg, wow. As I said OTR, I wanted him benched before the game at half time and after he scored. The lad got better as the game wore on, I think we were warranted in our belief that he shouldn't have started in a way, but when he scores a lovely taken goal and you win, opinions go out the window! Buzzing for Mundle to get another goal, another tough game for him, he's had it easy this season up until the Leeds game, where he struggled. Against Hull he was very quiet and here vs Luton, it was similar but he had the beating of his man, it was more to do with the rest of the team I think. Centre backs were tremendous, O'Nien grabs MOTM over Mepham for me, for his kick up the arse of Patta and his wonderful dive onto a crowd of players.
I stuck 50 quid on after the shields game because I could see how much he'd made changes to our approach already wish I'd of stuck more on tbh
Just watched some Luton stuff, filmed from their end, the only person that thought that Hume touching their player was a penalty, was that ****er jock commentator, none of their fans or players appealed for it, just that dick
It was actually Isidors nose that he puts his fingers round. Just watched it again and I couldn't believe how quickly he got from the touchline to get involved - definitely one of the group
He was pulled back a bit by Morris as he attempted to close the ball down. He still managed it as it went over the bar for a corner and I think he was having a go at the linesman for not spotting it.
https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...-after-highly-charged-luton-town-game-4837862 Sunderland’s head coach Régis Le Bris continues to remain calm despite his team’s tremendous form…. The game was a tense affair, with a post-game flare-up between the two sets of players and coaching staff occurring after the match. Despite this, though, Mundle noted Le Bris’ calm demeanour after the game with the Frenchman insistent that Sunderland shouldn’t get too far ahead of themselves. “He is like that, to be honest,” Mundle responded when asked about Le Bris’ calmness. “He still just keeps reminding us about how many games we've got left. So, yeah, we take the win. Everyone's in good spirits, but everyone knows that we've still got a long way to go and in games like this, it's just fantastic that we're getting a win away in a tough ground like this.” Mundle also echoed his manager’s sentiments after the clash against Luton Town. When asked how far Sunderland could go this season, he said: "There's a lot of games to go, so it's taking every game as it comes and just seeing how you do on Saturday. It's a good feeling, but just taking every game as it comes.” Mundle netted his fourth goal of the campaign against Luton Town, continuing to prove himself as a more than capable replacement for Jack Clarke, who departed Sunderland for Ipswich Town in the Premier League last summer. “As I was approaching it, as soon as it left my foot, I was thinking, hit it nice,” Mundle said after the game. “I took it inside and then kind of faked short. And then as soon as it opened up for me, I was just trying to just make sure just to hit the target. “Obviously, not after the last shot, just make sure I hit the target and it was a good finish for me. I just have to just keep working hard, staying consistent and just keep playing at the top of my game, just taking every game as it comes.”
club has said that once fully identifed the person(s) responsible will never be alllowed back into the SoL
Club saying they detest any racial incidents and if it's one of our fans then a ban will ensue if he/she is identified.
Just seen the Rob Edwards post match interview where he's talking about their offside goal. Come on mate, admit it ... you f*cked up. Your instructions are for a player to block the keeper at corners and free kicks. That's fair enough but it's a clear fact that he's trying to interfere and distract the keeper. So to suggest that the player isn't interfering with play is sheer stupidity ... ... you reap what you sow pal, in this case you reaped a defeat.
Who reported the incident ? Was it the player ? Cos you’d think a steward would of heard it 1st, needs looked at very closely and if true banned for life
they have said they are working with Luton, the Bedfordshire Police, Meta to identify the person responsible and if they are a SAFC a lifetime ban from the SoL, but I think that should be extended to all games
It was an online message. That's why the club are mentioning META. Must have been on instagram. Guess it could just be SAFC showing solidarity. Definitely sounds like they suspect this degenerate is a lads fan, though.
