Just tell him to try and shoot across goal and slot it into the far corner He'd get a decent number of assists that way, at least...
Yep but he has no conviction at all any more when shooting. You can see from his body language that he knows he'll never score. Sad really.
To be fair to Werner he’s played well tonight and been one of our best players. It’s just he has no confidence at all so when he has a chance you know it will amount to nothing!
As if missing chances wasn’t bad enough, he’s almost cost us a goal now, good keeping from Forster. He is an utterly dreadful footballer and complete waste of space.
I thought he would be terrible but would at least get a goal here and there. At this rate he won’t even get 5 goals
It's so weird how there's basically two players in there: the one outside the 18-yard box whose pace and control can be an asset in moving the ball quickly and directly into the positions we need it to be...and the one inside the 18-yard box who is like a post-coma Terry Gordy
I think this is ok. Even a scrappy win will do. It doesn’t matter the performance it’s about getting a result and keeping the team that will start on Sunday rested. Werner has done ok, take that bad miss out of the equation, he has been more of a threat than Moore. Moore has been pretty poor. I’m not giving him a hard time as he’s only 17 just putting his performance into comparison with Werner’s as everyone is so quick to slate him.
Don’t agree. They had one chance. We don’t need to risk any injuries of the team that will play at the weekend.
Wrong mentality to have. We should be treating Europa with a lot more respect. Best chance of a trophy for us.
Well, that was pretty ****. Plenty of possession but no real chances created (I don't bother counting the Werner ones). We could easily be going in behind. Bentancur needs to pass forwards occasionally. He's good on the ball, but too often doesn't risk the incisive pass. Moore, Gray and Bergvall have struggled to impress and I'd like to see Mikey switch wings. Maddison has been lively and Udogie full of energy, but overall it's very unimpressive. But maybe that's being unfair on AZ?
We have won the first two games and are 0-0 in this. I think we have more than enough quality to still win this from here on in. We are going to qualify for the next round, it’s not a do or die to throw a load of first team players on now. Let these players get more time on the pitch, we will need them throughout the season so it’s worth them getting more minutes.
People forget how bad we used to be when we made wholesale changes in these sorts of games. It’s absolutely the right thing to do that we give the other players game time to show what they can do. To make a load of changes at half time will do them no good at all. If we were getting battered I would understand it, but not right now
While there was disbelief at Werner's misses and the awful pass that nearly cost us, the crowd ain't turned on him....a massive improvement from what happened to Sanchez 18 months ago. Defended well, But toothless up front. Richarlison isolated but has done well and should have an assist. Bentencur, Davies and Maddison all a bit hit and miss. Think comparisons with the Coventry performance are wide of the mark imho
