Hull City boss Tim Walter told BBC Radio Humberside: "The first-half was brilliant and we had a lot of chances to score but at the end we made the wrong decisions. "They are top of the league and maybe have more individual quality than we do but what I saw was we have a team and they fought for each other. "I'm really proud of the boys, they behaved like a group, they behaved like a team and played like a team. (On being in the stands as he served a one-match suspension) "Maybe the people sitting near me got some enjoyment but I won't be doing it again. I've learned my lesson, it's one time and no more." Burnley boss Scott Parker told BBC Radio Lancashire: "It was a real positive second half and we looked every bit the team I want us to look for 90 minutes. "The final details let us down in the first half and the game became scrappy and their goal summed that up. "I'm partly disappointed because we came here tonight looking for three points and I thought we deserved them. "This is a young team with a lot of new players and in the second half I saw a winning mentality and we are going to need that."
They were £60m of Premier League class at the end of the season, not when we signed them. I’m not trying to compare managers or even claim we did/did not make a mistake in the summer. It’s immaterial now. But, the fact of the matter is - the manager was replaced to play more entertaining attacking football. All I’m saying is I’m ready to see a few more signs of that at home. I think we on the whole played well tonight and I think we are seeing progress. We’ve played better than I expected against two good sides BUT I’d like to see us have a go a bit more and certainly get a few more attempts on target. Is that really so controversial?
If they're gonna insist on goal music, it should be 30 seconds maximum after the player and fan celebration and scorer has been announced, only when they are setting up the restart. And it should be the "crackly Boothferry Park tannoy remix" of Tina's 'simply the best'. Preferably with scent of cigarettes, hot pies and male pheromone momentarily piped into the livelier sections, maybe some water FX to replicate leaks in kempton roof should todays technology allow. Acun, if you're reading this... There. That should sort it.
I quite liked the goal music What’s peoples opinion on Kamara? Thought he was very frustrating tonight, never seems to take his man on and a few times he could’ve got in behind but just never made the run.
It’s a shame for him (not us) that Belloumi has hit the ground running as he’s a right winger who cuts in. He’s being asked to adapt and he’s doing okay.
Can see how his style can be frustrating cos he looks so laid back at times but I don't really think his position is on the left, I think he was brought in to compete with Belloumi on the right. But he's obviously our second best option fit left winger at the moment. Or would you rather see Abdus back there?
He wasn't heckled at Norwich, he was subjected to the most vile abuse ever heard in the history of football, hopefully he'll recover before the season ends. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Yeah, but it wasn't world mental health day and the local hack doesn't have a box to tick for another 11 and a bit months. So call it all you want.
Decent first half, various other positives but we clearly aren't scoring or winning enough. Dunno what it is. Individually I think they're good players. Belloumi and Kamara have obvious quality; the latter I think is unlucky not to have more assists cos he's put a few really nice balls in from the left, including the wrongly disallowed goal at Norwich. We have a wealth of midfielders with attacking qualities. Centre forward is definitely a weakness but does that alone explain why we're so bad at turning good positions into chances and goals? It's frustrating that this club seems to permanently lack a proper striker, year after year after year.
Many thanks, I'll also support them anyway I want, within the law. Those that don't like my approach are free to do so, and then **** right off, that is all. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Just want to see more pace, Burnley played such a high line at points tonight and never got punished. To be fair to Kamara there were a few times he was in the perfect position to get in behind but he was ignored. I do think we massively overpaid if the £4 million figure is true though.
