Who cares if he's screaming instructions or just talking to them, he's always talking to his teammates and organising them He's clearly been made a captain for a reason rather than a token gesture as you say Neil has been really good defensively tonight, he could do better on the ball for sure but the movement of our midfield n forwards have been poor
Aye, seems laid back. Never seen him flap, but every action has an equal reaction, so with he's chilling, our chests are like the opening to Money for nothing.
Luton have been (literally) all over us but haven’t been able to score. The odd occasion we do counter we look potentially dangerous. Defending well.
People will slate Luton’s style of play, and I agree to an extent it’s ****e to watch. But if it’s seen as effective as against us then other teams will do the same. Plenty of PL clubs who are not only brilliant technically but have big physical teams that will batter us on set pieces if we don’t learn how to defend them.
If we can get it down and play football they won't live with us. Maybe need a forward on that can hold it up?
wtf are they talking about now. “Sunderland’s bench has more options”. What, versus the premier league parachute payment bench?
Luton are an incredibly effective side mind, no idea why they tried to change their approach. Tonight is the exact same as their game on Saturday, except we are dealing with them better than Watford. They will shoot up the table playing like this.
I nipped to Maccy d’s and missed disallowed goal my Luton mate is banging on saying it was onside? was it?
My opinion, worthless as it is, some players need to do more. I think Browne has been really poor. He has been knocked off the ball, easy to run off the back off and in possession has been poor at ball rotation. Rigg is not effective wide, he needs to be in engine room. He is exposing Hume too much. Cirkin hasnt been aggressive at all, unlike him. Isidor really isnt the right player so far, we need a back to the goal player and he doesnt have the game for that. Hold it, secure possession, Connolly showed he couls do that in his cameo. On the plus side Mepham is marshalling the back line well, and we look good from set pieces. Hume got turned inside out once but had really been strong since. Jobe is physically better than them and Ne is holding the midfield together big time when we dont have the ball. I would switch things now. Connolly up front for Isidor and Roberts on for Browne.
We’ve made the fatal mistake of stooping to their level … … we need some leadership on the pitch and someone to keep hold of the football. We’re currently doing exactly what they want us to do. Hopefully RLB will have had a few words.
Game still there for us to win, going to be a real battle this half to get anything from this We have the players to win this but we will have to use the subs bench effectively to get through this game Feel connolly will give us an out ball n will help get us up the pitch The ref has been poor, I counted at least 5 free kicks we should have got and that helps kill their momentum Be interesting how much longer they can keep this pressing up as there will be gaps for us to exploit at some point
Some say the goal should stand others not, I'm in the latter. Player in Pattos eyeline and a yard away from him at the balls played forward.
