I see your point of view too. I would wager the threat in that incident with Kaba wasn’t necessarily that Kaba reversed into a police car; it was more so that he could’ve then put the car into drive, accelerated and drove into Blake who was stood in front of the car as he aimed his rifle at the windshield. The officer had seconds to decide if he would hold fire and potentially get run over or take the shot to neutralise the threat when the suspect driving a car tagged for firearms offences showed no sign of surrendering. For me, he made the right decision and the jury clearly thought the same.
Armed police are trained to neutralise threats to the public & officers . They don't train to shoot tyres out or shoot guns out of violent criminals hands . Blacks make up about 13% of Londoners but perpetrate a disproportionate majority of knife & gun crime 80% plus. That's the problem not the police reacting to them , but that conversation is too uncomfortable for obvious reasons. Perhaps Diversity isn't a strength
