I'm feeling million times better @Royston Rejuvenated for the first time in just over a week. Feel a curry is on the cards tonight... Or pizza. Proper comfort junk food. Going to add the Hook onto the list. Hucking is just off the A249 if I'm not mistaken?
I'm not a coffee drinker, but I don't see the sense in the announcement by the head of Starbucks that he is hoping to restore their falling market share by simplifying their menu. In other words, reducing customer choice. One issue Starbucks has (so I read) is long queues of customers at busy times. A simplified menu might help with that to some small degree. But it may be that some customers will no longer go there at all, because what they used to order will be off the menu. More counters and more staff would tackle those long queues better. But of course that would mean investing in more coffee machines and more workers. I'm glad I don't frequent any of these coffee shops.
Coffee is one of the biggest cons like bottled water. Paying a fortune in places like Starbucks for a cup of froth. Give me independent coffee shops. Send Starbucks, Mc Donald’s Kentucky and all the other imports back to where they came from.
You can include tea as well. The UK has slipped back in that regard, you can't beat a pot of loose leaf, which used to be the norm, but is now considered posh. £2.50 for a cup of hot water and a Tea bag is poor fare.
I'm a Pret man, but they are very expensive now. Costa, Starbucks and Nero food is awful. I still remember @Charles No Likes Hawtrey waving his loyalty card like a maniac in the Victoria station Neros. He was like a White Usain Bolt such was the desire to get his discounted coffee fix.
