I guess that’s the nature of the academy, produce players and once get to 19/20 either get them involved in first team, or sell them on for profit and bring the next lot through. But hard to develop certain players if rest of team isn’t quite at that level and getting beaten each week.
You are moved early from u16s to u18 and then at 18 thrown at u21. If you don't make it you sit about to see out your contract you first signed. If you sort of are OK you get a loan. If you are good enough you go straight to firsts. Then a hear of buys are thrown in on top.
Koumas got another goal today. Quality finish as well. Out of all the loanees he seems To be having buffets impact.
When they get backing and games in an environment that allows them the patience then kids can thrive. We've wasted our time with some of the loans. Chambers is doing great at Wigan cos they don't have a player in thst position Morton we have prob knocked 10mil off his fee by not loaning or selling. Ladt week stoke played Norwich Gordon sat on a bench again. Koumas played a 10 type role and was taken off. This week Norwich played boro and Gordon got on but in the 91st minute after borough were down to 10 men. That loan needs to be terminated. He'd get more out of playing u21s than sat watching
Danns made a comeback for under 21s the other day. Started up top alongside chiesa who scored and played 60 minutes.
Rio Ngumoha has apparently played against the first team and shown a few of them up. LFC are apparently not releasing the training ground videos. Him and Doherty are the stand out youngsters
Yes kone Doherty is doing ok this year. Buy there's a long way from the trio of.him, koumas and danns thst i eas excited about last year and where we have got to noe. Players need a chance.
