Really strong opening 2 and a half minutes from Arsenal. All over them from the get-go. Had a few half chances in that short space of time.
Good pressing high to win the ball and force the error. Havertz should have crossed it in first time rather than taking a touch, though.
Calafiori just missed a huge chance. Trossard clips a lovely ball in from the corner, Shakhtar don't clear it, Calafiori has the whole left hand side to aim for and he puts it over. Was leaning back when he took the shot.
Ben White . Takes too long to clear the ball and a Shakhtar player nicks it off him. They were almost in, but thankfully, we had enough players get back to sort the danger out. Can't afford silly mistakes like that when we play Liverpool...
Partey plays a lovely defence-splitting pass but Havertz doesn't have the pace to get onto the end of it. Unlucky.
Shakhtar again come forward from our turnover, no-one puts a challenge in, they get a shot away and it deflects for a corner. Need to defend that situation so much better.
We force another error, Havertz lays it off to Trossard who should do so much better. Completely mishits his shot. Really poor finish.
A lot of our chance creation is all coming from either forcing errors, capitalising on loose balls or from wing-play. We need more ball carriers and players who can progress through central areas. Yet again, we are struggling to play between the lines.
Calafiori takes a shot with his right foot that is comfortably saved. Again, should probably do better considering how much space he had. Just didn't connect right.
We're not moving the ball fast enough. Trossard tries a switch of play and it goes out for a goal kick.
1-0. Shakhtar OG. That's really good work from Martinelli who chops inside, dummies the ball, then creates separation to take a shot which hits the post, rebounds off the goalkeeper and goes on.
That was a really good attacking move from us, but the cross from Rice was hit too close to the goalkeeper. Shame, otherwise Havertz would have had a tap-in to make it 2-0.
White gets booked for trying to pull back Eguinaldo when Shakhtar tried to counter. He's not had a great game it has to be said.
Ah, so close. Should have been 2. Martinelli whips a fantastic cross into the backpost, Jesus knocks it back across goal and it looks like Havertz has a tap in from close range, but Matviyenko just clears it. Unlucky.
Jesus has a great chance to extend the lead and the goalkeeper makes a good save with his foot. You can tell he's on a goal drought.
