Trai Hume revealed that the brilliant Wilson Isidor winner against Hull was a result of specific Sunderland analysis into the Tigers’ weaknesses. “We analysed them throughout the week and they like to take a lot of short corners,” Hume told safc.com. “So we set up with three to stop their three on the short and force them to the edge [of the box] and then press from there. “We were able to do that and the tactics to Wilson was whenever we do [that] to do that run, and that’s what he’s done. He’s gone up and scored and that’s great.”
How could it have gone in the top corner? A shot that hits the bar can go in off the bar, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. A shot hit into the stand never goes in. FACT.
Goes the sarky response AND the legitimate response. Absolutely desperate to carry on about an initially idiotic remark.
I was responding to two separate posts with two separate responses, you've had a double dip at the same post fella. My "ok" also wasn't sarcastic, yours was. Any more things you want to be wrong about in the one discussion?
Absolutely does my head in this. How, at this elite level, are our attacks ending with a ball blasted that high and wide? We seem to do it at least once a game and it's ridiculous.
Simons isn't exactly a goalscorer and after repeated shouts of "Shooot" from the crowd he took it on. I don't have an issue with it.
to be fair, its far easier to do than not even as a pro footballer, you get no time at all to take a shot on, so unless you hit the ball perfectly, its going to baloon the world class players can hit it perfectly more often, but even then they can have a howler
You could see he was embarrassed by his effort, which he sliced, but if you don't shoot you don't score.
You also don't score if your attacks all end prematurely, and in the last year or two we've had far too many of them end with shots from mid-range that go absolutely miles off target. Seri used to do it loads.
I think we struggle to find the right balance here and it's been part of our problem for a while. I've said it before but there were times last season where Rosenior said he'd told the players to shoot more and then we started blasting it all over the place for a couple of games. I don't think we should be shooting from positions where the player is off balance and has to rush his strike, leading to it going as far off target as that. It's no better than giving the ball away with a bad pass.
