Money aside, is there anyone who has had to give up their season ticket for personal or family reasons? Or can you think of any events that life may throw up that would make you consider not renewing your pass?

My best mate is due to become a dad in April, he’s not a City fan, but a Forest season ticket holder and he has agreed not to renew his pass so he can spend time with the wife and the kid. My initial reaction was he was mad and that I’d never consider doing that, but how high in your list of priorities in life does football come?

I gave mine up for work based commitments in 2002. When it looked like we were gonna have our day in the sun i renewed it and changed jobs.

Moved down to the smog so haven't had one for years unfortunately.

Do you remember that guy that ran across the pitch one night at Boothferry halfway through another piss poor performance and tore his season ticket up in front of Terry Dolan's face? There's one for the history thread!

If you support the club and can afford it then you should always buy one. One season i had to work away from home for 4 months due to Hull Dockers being on strike. So i gave it to one of my mates to use when i could not make games. By having one You can always lend it out when your not able to use it.

I also used to work with some blokes who could not afford a season ticket on there own so the 4 of them clubbed together to BUY ONE. They then shared it over the season. Now thats a good idea which some may choose to use.

I had to give mine up this year, and I'd had once since 2002. <cry>

No you won't need to. I'm living on student income and paying my mortgage and I can still afford the season ticket and to come down for enough games to justify having it. With my place as well if I was renting rather than buying I'd get a flatmate and be paying half in rent what I'm paying as mortgage.

    -------------------------

Season ticket I'm not too fussed about keeping. It's handy always having the same seat but if it became cheaper for me to pay on the day due to not being able to make enough games then I'd do that. Mine's actually an excuse to see my family more, because you wouldn't travel up and down the country twice a month to see your brother/sister just for that reason. When it comes to dealing with the issue with women though it's the other way round. ;)
