Did MLT actually ever score at St Mary's in a competitve match?

    Nope I dont think so.

His last goal in a competitive march was 'that' goal v Arsenal at the Dell.

I would love it if fans starts boycotting the ridiculous prices & times

Only way the league would listen is to see empty stadiums around the country

Problem is, if we all boycotted as traditional fans, there'll be plenty of "tourist" fans to take our place. We're just numbers, easily replaceable sadly.

I doubt I'll go either. Ideally I can sell my ticket on but I think many won't be arsed.

True for most clubs yeah but probably not us.

I remember Liverpool fans doing a protest once where they bought tickets but still didn't go.

Nah, any PL game will attract the tourists, a lot of them don't care who they're watching. See it at SMS time and time again.

I remember hearing/reading that a big reason why the PL became the bestest league in the world when all the tv money started coming into football was because the crowds, generally, were very good compared to other countries and the atmosphere at games helped drive the popularity of it overseas where most of the money comes from from a TV perspective.

No idea if that is still relevant as the PL has a huge global following now so if the crowds did fall/weren’t as loud if the TV audience would drop hugely as a result

Saw this mentioned a few days ago, in the media.

Currently 9 Premier League clubs are majority owned by American individuals or groups.
If that rises to 14, the Americans will rule the Premier League and be able to vote through changes that better meets their own interests.
Would games be played at times to fit in with an American audience?
Would games be played in the states, as part of the general season?
Advert breaks during the games, as they do in the states for some of their sports?
Not saying that this would happen but who knows what profits would be generated by shaping the premier league around an American audience.

The PL would have to change virtually everything to be really popular in America. I have thought for awhile that with the amount of American owners coming in they might try and revamp the sport, but I think that will be in the shape of a super league rather than wholesale changes in the domestic game

We might get franchises similar to The US, where a team is simply uprooted to a different city. Rather like Wimbledon becoming MK Dons.

I think they're more likely to vote to make the PL a closed shop and get rid of relegation.

That’s the only way the American sports model would work I think, doubt it would be taken too well here though. Don’t even know if they can vote to do that 14 “yes” votes or not

The FA hold a veto on drastic changes of that scale I believe.

On the whole American fans seem to have a lot of respect for the traditions of British (and European) football.

I don't think they would want these owners to change anything, any more than us English fans.

How many assists was that for Tadic? Seemed to be involved in every goal. Such a quality player and that link up with Pelle was sublime.
