I would imagine Wibur, Drury and Lappin can look for clubs in January. That would leave us four spots on the roster. Announce anything too early and the price goes up. Jordan Rhodes could be a target. I'm sure he's a PL type of player. Charlie Austin is starating to score again. Are there players out there, and available at the right price that are any better than we have already? And we are scoring our fair share of goals so is no CB a smoke screen? We know he has a preference for lower division non prima donnas, so don't expect ex Prem looking for a pension.
I'd like to see us try to bring in Frimpong on loan from Arsenal - which I reckon could be very likely. especially as they're now out of the Carling Cup - and also go for a really, really cheeky one by trying to bring in Oxlade-Chamberlin on loan as well. Pretty sure Wenger would like them both to go out and get games and he has already spoken highly of our style and has said we play 'premier league football' so I think he'd be more than happy for them to come and play under the watchful eye of Super Paul Lambert.
oh really? pretty sure grant wanted him - he was just a kid at barnet at the time. even more chance of getting him if lambert is a fan!!
charlie austin has dislocated his shoulder for a third time and has had serious fitness issues for the past year. i can't see that one happening, especially as lambert likes hard working players and austin most certainly isn't one of those! rhodes is definitely a possible but we will certainly not be alone in looking at him...

He's absolute quality, strong as an ox for a young un and would definitely add a bit more bit to our midfield. Whether or not Wenger would let him go out is another matter as he is a part of their squad and is back-up to Song who is likely to be missing for a month during the African Nations in the new year.
Wilshere is back in jan plus they have arteta. On SSN he has said he would consider a move, so let's be fringing 'aving you!
Were going on about loans here but what is the exact situation of the loand rules? I though we could have 2 full season or up until the end of the season which would be naughton and de laet!!?? Would like to see a player of frimpong's calibur at our club to help see us through and hopefully stay in this league, what about paul pogba from man utd? I cant believe there are no rumours what so ever going round with players linked with us, the only 2 i remember in the last month or so was sychev and frimpong who was also linked with swansea... What's even more surprising, though obviously pleasing, is that apart from a rumour or two about Pilkington and Liverpool (possibly lazy journalism as he's a scouser) none of our players are being linked with anyone. Hopefully it will stay that way, I hope we can keep all of our first teamers and add one or two, but I wouldn't get carried away and bring in people for the sake of it. I'm not sure we need another striker, I can see us playing one up top most of the season and I think Simmo can do a job as an impact striker. Vaughan will hopefully be back at some point in the new year, and if Chrissy Martin can find his shooting boots at Palace he could still have a part to play.
Sid, why is it surprising that none of our players have been linked to other premier league clubs. I think the strength of our team is that we are much greater than the sum of our parts, and most of the players are continuing to learn and develop their trade in PL.
Bring in another keeper to allow rudd to go out on loan to get more experience? Fringpong would be great but we already have johnson, fox and crofts who are all doing well.
Read somewhere (may be on here) Maynards contract expires in the summer? Not sure how true this is but would surely decrease his value and I don't think Bristol are in a position to allow him to go on a free in the summer. 2-3m or even less and PX Simeon Jackson? Doesn't seem a Prem player to me, unfortunately. Would have a punt on their winger who I mentioned too - Ademeo or whatever...looks a good player and interesting to see PL is aware of him as that article someone posted shows. I'd be chuffed with those two and sending De Laet back and getting McEachran in on loan. Frimpong is a good player but I think B.Johnson does that job and we need a bit of creativity.
if that is true about maynard, they will sell then, especially as the club lost the best part of £10m in their last set of accounts (which was announced this week)
Listening to the palace game, i heard that nathanial clyne's contract is up at the end of the season! I know we have naughton atm but would he be worth a punt cos im sure he wouldnt cost us that much and with martin seems to have converted to CB it would be good to have him as back up to kyle. There seems to be a lot of good young players with contracts expiring in the summer atm
