palmer is the new lampard. He joins the box and he can finish. He can find spaces. Itsa great talent to have but if you are man marked by a really disiciplined player you will vanish

But he was anonymous in general play and i have yet to see any sort of KDB type performance out of him in general play.

4 goals in a game, great. absolutey fabulous. 22 goals and 11 assist is a terrble season? Great. (9 pens)

This season he has 8 games in and 6 goals and 5 assists. 4 of those goals in one game v brighton, 3 assists wolves but he as where v CIty and LFC?

its a very harsh assessment but he is thriving in space and has that knack of arriving to score.

Chelsea are creating those chances and hes also assisting.

at 22 what more could anyone really ask from young player?
You're blind if you can't see how good he is.

Couldn’t disagree more.

szobo was meh agreed. But Nunez was good, linked up nicely and kept defence occupied. TAA defended brilliantly again today, this season he’s been better defensively than going forward imo.

Im going into these games much more confident defence will shut teams out and our attack will always be a threat in comparison to last year where we were just getting away with is via poor performances but doing just enough.

These days we look a far more rounded team - albeit early days
One of Nunez best games without a doubt hardly put a foot wrong. Link up play was really good and work rate that helped the defense at the right times.

It just feels like we have a more conventional team now. We aren't relying on Trent as much to progress attacks from deep so he is in position to deal with 1v1s. That's one of the advantages of having Gravenberch as a 6.

Jones for me was a pleasant surprise. We know this guy can press but I was expecting the main battle to be Gravenberch vs Palmer. It was Jones who was given that task and he excelled at it. while offering a threat from deep. An all round great midfield performance which is something that normally wouldn't be a highlight under Klopp because of how end to end games often were.

Crystal Palace is the only game this season where I feel we got away with it. Every other game there's been a level of comfort on a 1 goal lead that wasn't there under Klopp. Any worry has usually come from potential threat rather than actual threat.

The problem with Jones he seems to pick up injuries at the wrong time. If he has a good run of games he looks a good player. This has happened a few times over the years starts to look like a quality player then gets injured and then it takes him 6 or 7 games to show his quality again. Hopefully he can have a season where he stays injury free.

An intriguing game. Jones was the standout player, won, what should have been 2 penalties, scored and kept Palmer pretty much out of the game (bar one spooned shot).

Nunez worked his socks off, especially in defence. Robbo had a good game. Lovely cameo from Gomez, we can tend to forget what a good footballer he is. Kelleher didn't make a save (he should have made at least one, although I thought their lad was offside).

Chelsea were so undisciplined and reckless, referee bought everything they were selling, an absolutely, outrageously, awful performance from him.

Definitely on. I agree with the rest.

I didn't see the replay or VAR check of their goal so went looking on YouTube. It's a very tight call. Because I'm sceptical of VAR in general, I'm not convinced that the line was drawn at the moment the ball was released. But that's just my cynicism.

I actually thought that when they drew them at the time milli milli milli second later and he is off
Cause no one on here or tv said anything I thought it was just my eyes

Well, that's (another) drawback of VAR in general. Going on the frame we're shown, (which is all we have to go on), Konaté's foot was clearly deeper than him.
