Brad Guzan has been pretty solid but his loan period runs out after Saturday. Vito Mannone is back in the squad and here till the end of the season (at least). Will we try and keep BG for another month or welcome VM back into the team? IMO BG will play against Cardiff and go back to Villa. Then VM will come back in against Forest when he is fully match fit. No criticism of BG at all but think VM is the better 'keeper anyway and hopefully here for long term. Views?
Mannone if fit I dont trust Guzan. He gave away a terrible penalty against Reading and I think that he should have saved the shot against Ipswich
Both brilliant goalkeepers, can't really choose between them. If I was forced to pick a favourite I'd say Mannone, a poll would of been good for this thread. Good subject though.
Febbos - very harsh - the two mistakes he made are probably the sum total of his only real errors with us - a solid back line helps though. Vito made a bigger mistake in the home game against Reading when he punched the ball onto McShane and it dropped invitingly for Long to tap over the line. Mannone has been excellent but Guzan has been pretty good too and will probably get the nod against Cardiff. The only worry with Vito in the short term is that he's likely to be rusty after 2 months out. I do like his enthusiasm though. Would Guzan be prepared though to be on the bench to mannone if they extend his loan?
im suprised duke has stayed as long as he has,i reckon guzan coming in as quickly as he did must spell the end for duke
Definitely Mannone, his kicking is superb and when were passing around the back, he plays like a 12th man. Also from corners Guzan sometimes flaps and gets left stranded.
Why do some fans seem to enjoy having a go at our players. Both keepers are here on loan, I hope they don't look at this website, they could be put off from wanting to stay.
Guzan has done pretty well apart from the Reading penalty, Scotland's goal was superbly taken and I wouldn't blame him for that one. Mannone does seem to have something about him though so would be my preferred choice.
Mannone for me too. Can't really fault Guzan, but like Horsham Tiger said, Mannone just seems to have something extra.
