Think it’s fair to say we’re heading the way of America where it’s polarising. Loads of fat ****s of all ages but you see more and more older people in gyms or just being active in some way. Partly my fault as I’ve spent most of my career working for evil food corporations intent on making you a sugar addict.
Anyway, one of the only 'lesson' type things I bought when I was learning was Flea's master session, which I've still got on VHS in the loft. Absolute hero of mine on the bass, and when he broke down that slapping and popping thing, I was ****ing all over it and played slap on just about everything for about 10 years lol. please log in to view this image
I did mention that some 'people have conditions, injuries, chronic diseases etc which impact on their lives.'
You notice it a lot out there. There's not a whole heap in between, folk either seem to be into their health and fitness or they are 25 stone Taco Bell botherers.
Very true - my late Uncle was 19 and in United's academy when he was diagnosed with cancer - lived until he was 43 - his younger brother was 21 and in the army when he was paralysed by a massive tumour in his head - died at 50 ... both fit as you could be - dodgy genes - same family line that has taken 2 of my female cousins (both cancer) in their late 50s ..
So it's down to life and what it has gifted you. Even overweight people can be down to certain conditions. There are no guarantee's, regardless of how fit you keep yourself, that ticking timebomb could go off at anytime. I've known young people to die with no pry conditions, one day they are here, the next day gone. Also what fate might throw at you in way of an accident. Every single one of us does not know what tomorrow brings, if we make it!
Yeah, we're all subject to our genes and propensity to get illnesses that are in our family history. But as a general rule, if you keep yourself fit and healthy, you're more likely to live a longer life, or have a better quality of life for the time that you do have.
have to say that kidney failure has an average life expectancy of 10 years. well I’m into my 13th year now. **** stats and **** genetics. I made a deal with the devil and only the heartbreak a lifetime supporting Everton gives you will kill me.
You're not. If you said to me over 45 years ago I'd live to the age I have I would have laughed at you. I drank, I smoked, I rode a motorbike like a fooking lunatic. I did no keep fit, I ate what I wanted, all the things suppoedly not good for you, and here I am. Eveything is down to luck and when fate calls it time.
