2 away wins for Charlton in the league this season to date, but both on Saturdays. Our only midweek win was away at Cambridge in the EFL Trophy. Both midweek League games played so far have been lost this season. Barnsley score more then we do but concede more too. I predict a 3-2 home win.
Need a result tomorrow as Saturday will be difficult. One point from the next two games would be disaster.
How I see it. If we get Leaburn on a new contract and don't sell him in January I'll revise that, but it would be surprising.
We sold Alfie Doughty while he was out of action with a serious injury. It would depend how much we get offered.
I'll watch it on Charlton TV for Terry's totally unbiased commentary. There have been a few complaints about Brownie rabbiting on but I enjoy his Hansen-like slating of poor defending. .....UNless it's on Sky, in which case it won't be on CTV
Terry Smith badly needs media training, but I am guessing the club is too tight to provide it. His questions to players / managers are even longer than Grapevine’s posts. We have sold just over 500 for tomorrow night - hats off to each & every one of them
I will have a little wager with you. That is their plan to bring on young players and sell them. Leaburn will be gone by the Summer.
How else does the SMT break even ? 1. Minimal spend on the squad, tick 2. Artificially boost attendances, tick 3. Sell our best players, tick Have I exaggerated anything ?
Birmingham are 8 points ahead of us with a game in hand despite us beating them. Barnsley away is a tough one. We seem to sneak results off them but can’t see us getting anything tomorrow night. Hopefully I’m wrong but we can’t be letting the good squads put too much daylight between us and them so really need something. I can’t see it though.
Am I correct in thinking that three of our first choice defence are out injured tonight ? Ramsey, Jones & Edwards.
I didn’t know that Edwards is out. I heard a rumour that Ramsey has done his ACL and that Jones will be out for a number of weeks.
