Agree! The long ball game that we employed under GT, and the one Luton used in the PL caught out better teams because it was different to what was normal. The speed from defence to attack will catch out teams who are trying to attack by committing players forward. It is about how fast you get forward, by whatever means, but to have defenders slowly trundling the ball up the pitch is easy to stop, as shown today.
We had this last season, home form good, away bad then after Shef Wed away form ok but home form totally shocking
The saddest thing is now Cleverley is getting a lot of criticism and even talk of sacking him. Predictable I guess. And might well happen if there are more performances like today. Playing an injured Bachmann who isn't the most popular player anyway doesn't help. TBF I am not sure he can be criticised as such for saying the players understand what it means before the game but obviously that didn't work out. And do we really need 3 articles on the WO website saying how rubbish it was - just riles people up and almost rubs their noses in it.
It's about getting a mix of attacking styles. We were too predictable under recent management until TC started mixing it up, which was successful, but he seems to have forgotten that. Still very much TC-in, FWIW.
I know ours was poor performance, but some of the idiots on twitter are way OTT, and really need to pull their heads in. Or maybe I should just block them so that I don't have to look at their nonsense?
Georgi is a good player but he does get away with not creating or scoring much. Pollock seems to be popular now and has done well too but wasn't so long ago these people wanted him out of the club. Bayo isn't great no but he wasn't playing in defence or midfield which I understand was the main problem as they didn't compete.
Apart from Matt Rowson's report I've avoided this like the plague. I was out and about with friends in London, just as well...
