Apparently Louise Speed (widow) has requested it to take place when we play Swansea so she can be present.

There will still be a minute's applause.

Apologies, it was on twitter from Lee Ryder and Sheilds Gazzette writer.

Good to know there'll still be a minutes applause. Is the Swansea game in two weeks?

Thats fair enough, plus it will be more appropriate with it being a Welsh team, especially one nearest to where Speed was born.

Fair enough. The fans will still pay tribute to him unofficially.

Cheers. Not too far away then, good to know she'll be there to see it anyway.

Honestly I'm vastly happier with that, particularly in knowing its got his wifes approval. The hymn, cards etc seemed a bit much when we're yet to hear from her at all, she must be in bits, and their kids.

Nice to know the away fans will be in full support as well at Swansea. Not that Chelsea fans wouldn't, just that welsh fans would obvious have a stronger love for the guy.

Not 'bragging' or anything, but she's at Elland Road on Saturday which is why I think this has been postponed. Agree it'll be even more appropriate if Swansea are there too. Hope it's a good 'un. <ok>

Louise must be a very brave woman to be able to do this. All credit to her and I hope she's given a real lift by the passionate fans of the two Uniteds. :D

Is it true that he was having a homosexual dalliance?

    Genuine question.

don't see it as bragging as both clubs hold a special place for him and you have to respect the wishes of the family

I know, just wanted to make sure I didn't look like I was trying to make out Leeds necessarily meant more to the family or anything just because Louise is visiting ER before SJP.

Also I was scared of getting the **** Griffed out of me.

    <laugh><applause>

Also it sort of figures that she'd be visiting Leeds first: the place he started off and place he played the most matches. Have to respect somebody dealing with all of the politics at hand and visits here and there during such a crap time.
