Leicester do look like making more of a fight of it, but despite the comeback, didn’t think they looked any good yesterday either really. So yeah, I’d tend to agree. How exciting
And when you think of how dominant all three of us were in the Championship it just emphasises how big the gap is, and the more often 2 or 3 of the promoted sides go down the larger the gap becomes.
Good goal by the rules but the rules are so rubbish. An offside player shouldn't be able to jostle with a keeper imo.
But the jostling occurs when he isn't offside as the corner hasn't been taken at that stage and you can't be offside directly from a corner.
Bit different losing in the last seconds and giving up a 1 goal lead against Man City vs giving up a 2 goal lead and losing in the last seconds to…Leicester. Wolves will be fine.
And it was? His on-field decision was fine. Absolutely no reason for the VAR to suggest him to check it.
Incidents like this need to be checked by the referee on the monitor as it comes down to interpretation of the rules. So right for VAR to send him over to check it. And it was ruled out at first.
But you could argue it gave him less time to set himself for the shot. Said for years I'd prefer to go back to offside being offside and removing the subjectivity from it. If you're on the pitch and close to other players then you're interfering with play as far as I'm concerned.
Interesting if so. Sky changed the score to 2-1 before the review, so I assumed the goal was given on field.
The cheers from the Wolves fans were so loud that the flag had clearly gone up. Plus the referee made the screen signal before pointing to the centre spot indicating a change of decision.
Tom is right… I had it on radio, commentators said flag went up for offside so then var check is to see if goal should be allowed instead. Everyone loves to hate VAR but this time it was all used correctly
Sky sold me (and others) a dummy. They very much gave the impression that the goal had been given, and that Wolves were potentially about to be saved by VAR ruling it out. I shouldn't be surprised though. They also don't seem to be aware that Silva can't be offside prior to Stones heading the ball.
