Enjoyed seeing that Arsenal lost today after one of their fans the other week told me that they'd go unbeaten
You'd hate it mate - it's a weekly programme that seems to specialise in footage of Southampton FC losing...
98th minute in a huge game the goalkeeper has to be stopping that. One small point. Safe standing, good as it is, has killed the death potential of last minute winners. Not a single image of a fat bloke falling down six rows. Nobody on the pitch. Bring back unsafe standing.
Couldn't see it well enough to know whether should have been saved or not. Bigger issue for me is that we don't defend the edge of the box for corners and not the first time it's cost us. Madness.
Oh yeah winds me up too. We bring eleven players back for corners including the midgets and half of them aren’t picking anyone up. Some stats nonce who has never played has probably calculated that’s what you do to minimise xG conceded.
Yeah another one of those moronic modern phenomenon's. Infuriates me to not leave two players up too.
Nice consistency from Taylor when this is ignored. He was absolutely ****ing useless yesterday the ****. Says it all when he's meant to be one of the best we have.
My favourite which seems to be unique to our league and below and yesterday was a classic of the genre. Away goalkeeper killing time at a goal kick after about an hour so the ref makes a big show of having a word (killing more time in the process). Does this three or four times with increasingly dramatic hand gestures. Crowd gets on his back. He warns the goalkeeper 37 times it’s his last warning. Books goalkeeper in the 97th minute. Except he didn’t get round to the last bit this time.
Yeah, I saw that, ****ing ridiculous, I guess it was 'fleeting' despite him getting clearly pulled back for about 10 strides.
Yeh saw that on the footage and it's a pen and I would have been raging at Ayew - don't think the ref is looking at it though despite the head position - look at everybody in the crowd - suspect he's looking where they are - to where the ball is dropping... but why VAR isn't suggesting he has a look, **** knows ...
Apparently Taylor said he didn't give it as it wasn't 'of consequence' which is arguably the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard. Going by that logic a foul off the ball is never a foul...
He was terrible yesterday, up with the worst I've seen this season and there's already been a low bar there. Not the reason we lost but the inconsistency is infuriating.
Yesterday the ref gave a penno for an Ipswich player kicking McNeill. luckily VAR remembered the farce of Burn v DCL last week and applied some consistency. Apparently it’s now classed as clever defending.
The inconsistency between refs is bad enough but the same ref in the same game is mind blowing how many times it happens.
