Why would they laugh? It’s just a forum. Howe has been poor for a while, has spent £350m+ and is replacing Gordon and Bruno with Almiron and Longstaff in a poor home defeat to Brighton. It’s not embarrassing by any stretch to want him replaced. The only thing embarrassing at the moment is the team and our lack of, well, anything.
I think he's been right for this first phase. But agree if we want to push on we need to look at other options. I think a lot will depend on whether rules and court cases truly open things up for us or not. I can't see Europe's elite coming here if they know we are still hamstrung by finances. But if that were to change...
Difference is, the majority of us have forgotten more about football than you’ll ever see or ever pretend to know. I’ll also add life, education and professional accomplishments into the mix if you want me to be a complete ****?
We all long for the day when the likes Almiron & Longstaff are no longer in the match squad, but unfortunately £350m doesn't replace a whole squad these days. Not for top level PL anyway. More time, money and patience required.
No, the thing that’s embarrassing is people bringing up the money spent, forgetting the complete lack of investment previously and battering someone who they couldn’t hope to emulate in a million ****ing years . IlThere was a complete gobshite in crowd today who got told to shut the **** up, sit down, kiss his over made up lass or leave or get splattered…… he shut the **** up and left eventually. Club does not need ****ers like that in the stadium.
That to my mind that was the main issue today. Isak is clearly not match fit, and there was no one else Howe felt like trying.
I think you’re right there mate. It’s a weird scenario because we want the club to progress. But we are still miles behind the top six. The season we got into the champions league I think hoodwinked us. As fans. Howe is a nice guy and a top manager but he isn’t elite. I think this next 5 games is the end of it.
On that I agree. I’ve been to see the team a few times and always support throughout, I moan (too much) on this forum but would never spend time and money going to a match to bitch and whinge. If I were to be balanced, I’d just say that the clubs ambitions perhaps outweigh howes ability and whilst he’s a very capable manager who’s done brilliant things, he’s been fairly poor for a year now and we aren’t getting better. The players look disinterested, the tactics are predictable. There’s no sense we’re going to improve, so I would probably look to change now before the season runs away from us.
I’m Not convinced he wants to be here. Him and Gordon have not signed contracts. There is so much wrong at the club atm. The wheels are falling off? We look like billy bear ham.
It only hoodwinked some fans not all of us.. I was on here listening to people arguing until they were blue in the face that I was wrong saying we'd fall away for a few years. The situation hasn't changed... you've got the delusionals and the rational. Newcastle as a club as miles away from the top 6 and one season didn't change it.
We won’t finish top 7 this season. No where near. And I fear that PIF might just accept we are top half. Their investment for 300m is safe. We are double that even at top 10 so there is no concern for them there. Howe is not the answer. If we look at Man City progress after their takeover it’s acceptable to move on from average managers. Top clubs do that. Average clubs accept mediocre. Fans that’s are used to failure accept failure. It’s part of their dna
Once howes gone let’s see which top team swoops in to get him. Newcastle are in complete limbo at the moment. We need decisiveness and don’t have anyone in the club who’ll take action. Spurs are about to get supercharged and we are watching the likes of Villa running away from us. It’s been a desperately poor 18 months+’for the club. Harvey Barnes or Cole Palmer. It’s a very constant theme. Employed about 10 new scouts and the best we could find was Osula and Kelly. We have dynamic players yet the play is dull, pragmatic, sideways ****. We’re completely lost at the moment.
Clearly not helped by Eales unfortunately being ill and the changes with Staveley, Ghodoussi and Ashworth. I think the club could have moved a bit smarter with deals off the pitch without all that disruption. Which could have helped with options on the pitch.
