First of all, Hats off to those of you who made it down to Southampton. I was sat in the prawn sandwich seats and you were bloody brilliant in the first half. I was very proud of you. Now I don't get to come on here are read so much anymore but I can tell that some of the posters are already having the knee-jerk panic. We have had a very bad week. That much we can say. I think we need to be realistic about where we are at. I would say that our chances of promotion this season have significantly dropped now Nigel has left. Perhaps our chances of making the play-offs is what I should have said as the automatic places was not a realistic aspiration.. I don't wish to draw that as a negative about Barmby either. But you can't take one experienced manager and replace him with a junior and expect consistent results instantly. It's probably good we even got them two losses out the way early to realign peoples expectations. We have two very difficult games coming up now and it's certainly time to get behind the team. They will give it a go and they aren't playing boring Nigel Pearson football anymore but we can't expect the form to be how it was. I'm predicting we finish 10th this season and I think we will have to be content with that whilst Barmby picks up his trade.
I agree with you but then i look at the table and we are 2 points off the playoffs with a game in hand!
If we finish higher than last season i'll be happy. My expectations were picking up in October but have gone down a little since Pearson's left and November being a poor month results wise. In the end, if we finish better than last season we;ve progressed and i can't see us being that far away from the playoffs anyway.
thats the beauty of it really as nobody knows what the rest of the season will hold......table wise. One things for sure, since NB took over the football is much better than before. Long may that continue and i expect City to win more games than we lose by doing so. Onwards and Upwards with Barmbys Army.
Come out of cloud cuckoo ! You are only 7 points from relegation, AND youve lost 4 of the last 5 matches ! We know we've been crap but at least we are realistic and have done something about it !!!
Sorry, you have done something about it, youve appointed one of your players as Manager ! Brilliant !
How is this any worse than hiring Roy Keane like Sunderland did? Look where he took them! Time to get back to your window licking I reckon..
Sunderland fans have never been realistic, i should know, my old mans one. I dunno how you can question what westhulltiger said, he's only stated there's a proability we can get in the playoffs, which would be a great achievement since we were nearly ruined after our demise and relegation. He didn't say we'd **** it and win the bloody thing. On the other hand, you Mackems think you can just throw a bit of Ellis' money at a problem and it'll all go away. You'll be lower midtable at best this season. It was good you got rid of Bruce but can't see MON doing owt with the team you have. And it's cloud cuckoo land.
