I just don't understand how the mental strength of these players is so wafer thin. On paper they're as good a bunch as many in this league certainly should have been a match for today's opponents. But their confidence just plummets as soon as there's any adversity. Smyth, for example, usually one our most confident of players looks to have finally succumbed to the pressure of online commenters.

Mind you if Cook's blast over the bar had gone in it's a much different game but little excuse after. Maybe unfortunate to lose to a pen but still, so depressing.

Cardiff were bottom this morning and won 5-0. Now we are bottom maybe we can do that on Tuesday against Coventry.

As soon as I saw us starting with 5 defenders I said to the lad that we would lose. Never been a fan of wing backs, they tend to revert to a back 5 too often. If anyone tells me that Madsen is a footballer, nevermind a good one, I think I shall piss my pants in laughter. Can't influence a game in any way, shape or form.
We have bought some absolute garbage and wouldn't get a quarter of their price back for some.

Completely unacceptable, losing to those useless ****ers at home and now bottom of the league. We are seriously **** and so weak, serious questions have to be asked for the manager now. I just can't see us turning things around at the moment !

It'll be interesting to see how many people are blamed for today before someone other than me (and Stan) questions the manager.

    Edit. And Hammersmith.

Because he’s an issue but he’s clearly not the main issue. Other people bring in these dross signings and Fox has chosen two key points to be an utter mong against a team who created next to nothing themselves.

Was right about one thing at least. Got a nice return on Dembele 1st goalscorer. Shame about the other bet of him scoring first and us winning 2-1. If only I'd done them to win 2-1 ! ****ing hoop muppets

Sadly, this is all totally predictable. We were rubbish and struggled for most of last season and did nothing to strengthen the squad during the summer. Portsmouth can't believe their luck but that won't last. We need new owners because the current lot have proven they have no ambition.

For no doubt a variety of reasons, this team is shot of confidence.

Let's see if Marti can work his magic again. Hell of a task.

Fox had a mare but few covered themselves with ant degree of glory.

One thing I'm annoyed with the club for is not getting a LB in place.

I like Ashby and think he was a good signing but we really needed a LB instead.

Back line should be Ashby, Dunne, Cook, Salter, Paal.

Fox should only come on if one of those gets injured. If Dunne, Cook or Salter go injured mid-game, I'd actually think about dropping Field to the back 3 instead of Fox.

We've been in way worse scenarios before, as a club. Cifuentes' task when he came in last season was much bigger than the one we have now. Sort out a few things and we'll start picking up points and gaining confidence.

If Fox hadn't given away the pen, we'd have taken away a point and a bit of confidence :emoticon-0183-swear
