It was a mad time with folk keen on getting in all sorts of coaches with limited pedigree. Cifuentes wasnt the worst on the list but it was a stretch to see the big appeal for me. Chatted to my neighbour as he got back from the Derby match today. He said QPR were absolutely useless. Maybe he will go but I suspect he has some credit in the bank. Biggest underperformer has to be Edwards at Luton. Struggling to get my head around their form tbh. Very strange indeed.
Saints are set to have talks with Martin this week about his future at the club, think he could be the first to go
You'd assume it will be him or O'Neil at Wolves. The latter has more credit in the bank (in PL terms). It'd be an interesting conversation if the Southampton powers that be ask Russell Martin to change his playing style to be more pragmatic and try and scrap for survival, given the fact they knew what they were getting when they appointed him. Not to say that a manager should be 100% wedded to one sort of football of course.
Carrick - no, not yet but pressure mounting. Cifuentes - definitely a real candidate, things heading south fast, but a basketcase of a club which might buy him some time in case there aren't many lined up alternatives. Harris - in my estimation number 1 candidate to go. Results are poor, not improving & comments about how Millwall should be top 4 on stats feel like someone who knows he's under pressure. Few more games in current run and he could go. Robins - 50/50 for me. He's got a lot of credit built up through promotion & getting them to the play off & nearly into the Premier League. But, he's been there a long time. He might have gone as far as he can with the current squad & lack funds/support to massively overhaul as needed. Plus familiarity breeds contempt, Coventry fans might start hankering after a new face if things don't improve soon (short memories) rather than giving him time to turn things round. Personally watch Danny Rohl at Sheffield Wed. Not that he's a bad manager, but their chairman is a twat and could sack him on a knee jerk if things carry on as they have, despite fans largely backing him.
I heard the boos from where I live in Southampton. also carrick has to be on the verge and mags want Howe to go
Seriously? After what he's done for them? Mind you they have previous for it. No doubt they'll build a statue for him down the line!
Beheadie for the chop??? Actually wouldn't surprise me at all. Personally I think he's overrated, but he was never first choice for the job. And a mag mate of mine is seriously worried about the future. Reckons they gave the captaincy to Bruno to keep him there and that if they miss out on Europe this season, Bruno, Isaak and Botman will all want away.
You make a good point about the Sheff Wed owner. Similar could be said for Cleverly at Watford, they've started pretty well but got humiliated today and the Pozzo's love a sacking
Agreed. League position means nothing to the Pozzos'. They are infamously the ones who sacked a manager towards ds the end of the season just outside the relegation places for a "new manager bounce" to stay up, only to to be worse off and get relegated.
Rumours here that Potter has been seen in the city and at Marchwood (their training ground) but it’s the board that want him gone. Players like him and have said if he goes so do we
To be honest mate, Southampton's owners are a bit "weird". Some stuff in the past when they wanted to buy Coventry were weird to the max. Stuff about having text competitions suggesting next sub in a game with most voted for coming on regardless. I'd heard they didn't back previous managers since taking over. Seems like a strange bunch, if rumours are right.
Aye, I have a friend that works at the training ground.. He believes something could happen in the next 48 hours
Just that I find it strange that Potter is linked considering the jobs he had been lined with previously. Mainly Man U, England plus jobs abroad to go to Southampton
