Those governments aren't the British one, though. Even if Starmer could get the whole of NATO to stop providing Israel with offensive weapons, that still wouldn't stop them. They'd just get them from other countries for a few years until Labour and the Democrats lost the next election. That would be fairly inevitable after a good round of antisemitism accusations following those actions.
I don’t buy into that at all. The uk could do what it controls, whether that is enough to stop them is irrelevant. Why would it be anti semitic to not supply Israel arms?
If it's not going to affect Israel, then what's the point? It would be purely performative and it would damage the UK's standing. Is that right or fair? No. It is what it is, though. It wouldn't be antisemitic to not supply Israel arms, especially those that are purely offensive in nature. That's how it would be reported though and Labour's position on antisemitism has been destroyed by the Corbyn era. They cannot afford to be seen to be unsupportive to Israel and hope to win another election. Given that you appear to agree that it wouldn't prevent Israel doing anything, it's just not worth the damage it would do.
It would be nice to know our government aren’t complicit in killing Palestinian babies though. Seeing the photos and videos is horrific but to know our governments are part of it is even worse.
please log in to view this image ...but not getting a RoI on bunging Starmer £4m is definitely the important thing
The NRA are a Russian asset: https://www.npr.org/2019/09/27/7648...ussia-ahead-of-2016-new-senate-report-reveals The use of a poodle is also stupid, as they were bred to be hunting dogs.
I'm sure everyone on here would agree with you, but the grim reality is that Labour and the UK can't afford to do this for absolutely no affect. The Tories and Brexit have already destroyed our position on the world stage and being on the outside on this would make things even worse. The realistic move, in my opinion, is to hope that the Democrats win the US election and that they can then pressure Israel to dial it down, at least.
Donald Trump is reportedly exhausted and refusing interviews, which is a great look for someone running for US President. I'm sure it's got nothing to do with the enormous amount of election interference evidence that was just released. 1,889 pages came out a little over an hour ago. There'll be some very busy journalists this Friday afternoon, I'm sure.
"Change." Oh, by the way... Don't you ****ing dare whine "But I didn't vote for this!" - you knew, you just didn't care
Liebour won by default. The tories messed up that bad over Brexit and Covid that it was a shoo in Two tier Kier would win. Next election in 2029 on the other hand will be interesting.
They keep saying the U.S. election is close. What are people wanting to vote Trump for?We ask them. They won't tell us.Don't they know what he will do to them and their families? The young people will have to support their parents and grandparents when he takes away their social security and healthcare? Can't they see this?
Maybe the younger generation are thinking along the lines they are less likely to be conscripted into the armed forces because there will be much less chance of getting into any wars
Which two tiers are you referring to? That phrase comes straight out of the Reform party playbook. It is not based on any facts as far as I can see. Perhaps you would enlighten me.
I haven't seen the police raid the house of any pro-Israeli journalists citing anti-terror laws recently At least two pro-Palestinian journalists, on the other hand...
