Carragher was so against foreign managers he played very little under Sven and capello to show how ‘scouse, not English’ he was.
probably also had a lot to do with the fact that John Terry and Rio Ferdinand were Capellos first choice CBs as they were both 10x better than Carragher, thats probably why he is bitter towards foreign England managers

The first thought that comes in my head, I thought you would have to apply for the job rather than being approached - I've no idea if the FA do approach people, but if you don't make your thoughts known then if it was me, I'd say I can't really complain. I wouldn't have wanted Eddie anyway, although if he had been selected, like all managers I'd have given him a fair amount of rope as I would any manager. I'm not really sure what my thoughts are on Howe, he's one of the unknowns for me, seems to plod along, but I'm not seeing any wonders created that put the Toon on the map.
