He is a journalist for a national paper, not an insular, parochial inhabitant of Hull who are the only people these arcane tings matter to.
Do they call both Manc clubs Manchester? Come on I know you like being obtuse but a bit of research would have told them that "Hull" in fact finished second bottom and were nowhere near the play offs never mind the final
Most people outside of the M62 corridor will be unaware there are 2 clubs in Hull. If Leeds had been in the finally should he have described them as Rhinos fans and nor Leeds fans to avoid upset overwrought United fans?
But when there are two clubs playing the same sport, one of which goes by "Hull" and the other doesn't...
Only one of them was playing. No different to saying Sheffield fans if only one of them is involved in the game.
The media wouldn't just say Sheffield either or Manchester or Bristol. It just smacks of lazy journalism and a lack of research just because it's only rugby and only Hull, and I'm not even a rugby fan
If he was anything of a journalist, which he obviously wasn't, he'd have called them Rovers seeing as he named them that early in the article. just lazy so called journast, or a better word........****!!!
For once I agree with you!! They are fans from Hull, so in a national perspective calling them “Hull fans” is not an insult but accurate & that’s from an east hull boy (well ex east hull boy!)
That second link is very early in the afternoon as the ground is nearly empty. Looks like a fair few Wigan fans in the picture.
Nice looking kit for next season with the Challenge Cup winners in mind from previous seasons. For the benefit of Rerver the Challenge Cup is something called silverware.
