New England Manager incoming...... https://www.skysports.com/football/...a-ends-search-for-gareth-southgates-successor Well if nowt else it reduces the pool of available managers that Man Ure can pick from when they finally grow a pair and jettison ten ***s into oblivion. Quite like Tommy Tickles if I'm honest, I have mixed feelings on the next manager not being English but we're not exactly blessed with options that are likely to push us on to that next level so I'm curious to see where this could go. Be very interesting if we meet Germania in the knockout stages of the next major tournament, adds a bit of extra needle to it I guess if nowt else.
I actually think this is a bike move by the FA. By all accounts they approached Eddie and he said no. Carsley ****ed things up in his interview after the defeat. And I think he knew anyways. So onwards and upwards.
I honestly can't believe we've appointed a German to manage England. It's the national bloody team for ****'s sake. Kraut fans must be laughing their heads off and rightly so. What an abject admission that we have abandoned all national pride.
Well that's better than I was expecting. But is Tuchel so washed up he needs to go for the England job? Surely he had better options.
Wages are surely unbelievable. If I recall correctly, Capello was on an absolutely insane wage, even for today and that was over 10 years ago.
**** as he was for England, Capello was a huge name at the time so it doesn't surprise me. Barely learnt English and lumped with a **** team, so money all down the drain. He was old though and had a huge managerial career already, weird move for Tuchel so early in his manager career.
Presumably all that they could get him on. Good move for him then, get his career back on track, then move to something much better quickly.
Tard of the day, Oliver from Barrow, who reckons Frank Lampard doesn't get his dues for Tuchel winning the Champions League:
I'm interested to see if he's strong enough to finally be the England manager to pick best players for a particular formation. Trent at left back, Foden anywhere, Bellingham up front - all this crap has got to stop. What does he play, 4-2-3-1? So pick a first XI, second XI with a few mavericks. It's not rocket science.
Surely international football is all about nationality. Otherwise we might as well have a transfer system and the country with the most money buys the players they want. Saudi Arabia world cup champions. What does this say about us? That we are stuck with Englishmen to play for England but we want them led by someone else. I also note that the brigade who always **** on England and bang on about how they don't care about international football on every international thread are delighted with this appointment, whereas the ones who actually support England...
It says that English coaching is dogshit. People always bang on about English coaches not getting the top jobs, but maybe they're just all crap. The list of English managers who've won a trophy in the PL era is - Royle, Atkinson, Little, Evans, Redknapp and McLaren. Not one has won the league or a European trophy. This is why I cannot fathom people sticking by Howe even though he's consistently showing many of the traits we know English managers have. The bloke will never win a trophy at this club, or indeed any club! Brighton with all their scouting hoodoo went for a 31 year old German rather than an Englishman. Potter's still unemployed. I think the FA is fundamentally not fit for purpose. Germany has 4x the pitches we do at grassroots. We're the only country whose top flight isn't governed by our own FA. The ineptitude is staggering. We only have emerging talent because we have around 30m too many people in this country and the subsequent chasm of disparity between rich and poor, thus the best ticket out of poverty is basically being good at sports.
